Bad reaction to atomic cinnacide

DISCLAIMER: This is NOT a knock against Tasty Vapor. I use them almost exclusively for my e-liquid needs, and am extremely happy with their products. Anytime I've ever dealt with them they've been amazing, and I 100% trust that they're doing everything they can to offer the finest product on the market.

I read on here that once you go AC, you never go back because it's such an intense flavor that everything else pales in comparison. Well, they were right! I finally, after using mostly TV Mojito and Amaretto Stone Sour for a long time, finally gave in and ordered some AC while it was on special. WOW! It's the first e-liquid that really COMPLETELY filled the smoking void. There's something about that burn that just works.

Now, the problem: After a few weeks of exclusively using AC I started getting a bad, phlegmy cough. The whole inside of my mouth was really, really raw. My lips were constantly burning and I had to use Carmex non-stop to keep it from getting worse. Once I realized the cause, I quit using AC and switched back to my old flavors. Since then, the problems have completely subsided and I'm back to normal now. The drawback of this is that all the other flavors suck now! I think the AC melted my tastebuds!

So, i'm curious, has anyone else had the same experience as me? I know there's nothing wrong with the liquid, since many others, including Geoff, use it on a daily basis. I wonder if I have an allergy to cinnamon oil or something. I really wish I could keep using it, because it's AMAZING, but my system just doesn't seem to be able to handle it.

Thoughts?

My thought is that AC is best used in small quantities for it's magic atomizer purifying properties (great way to purge coffee flavors off of an atomizer without cleaning it) and as a throat hit enhancement for other tv juices and as an occassional cinnafirey yum yum treat but really doesn't have a place as a "main vape" or even "often vape". I mixed it with geoff's because keyzygirl suggested it and she rocks hard as hell and knows her stuff. I mixed it with MO because MO had rave, rave reviews and I wasn't getting why there was such a fuss (but MO with a smidge of AC is aaaaaaaaaaaaaawesome - I taste the flavors people were bragging about that I didn't taste with plain MO), I've mixed it with a lot of inferior juices to salvage my investment in those juices also. As a solo juice, it doesn't hold my attention like MO + small amount of AC or the ultimate vape of geoff's without being toyed with or any of TV's other juices. I think it's a great product for it's enhancement/utilitarian usage over using it as the standalone product it was designed for. Keep in mind though, I think Taco bell medium sauce is awefully firey.

Which flavor is "MO?"

Many cinnamon flavors I've tried have had the same result for me.

Increase water intake as the cinnamon can irritate the mucosa of the mouth, esophagus and lungs. I gotta admit, I find it's worth it to me. Sometimes I switch off for a few weeks, then right back on it. Nothing works like a cinnathroathitburn... nothing.

One other consideration is the PG/VG blend. I know someone who is sensitive to VG and gets irritation anything over 20%... just a thought.

People have reactions to different things, be it flavoring, PG, VG, etc. Since this is such a new industry and the components used that were made for ingestion are now being inhaled through water vapor, it's going to change the way you react to these components.

Whether you like a liquid or not, if you're having a reaction to it, STOP using it!

I find I like liquids with 20% - 30% VG, but this makes me considerably congested. Congestion being a reaction to VG, I simply weighed the comparisons between how cigarettes made me cough and how my liquids make me cough and came to the conclusion that the congestion caused by vaporized VG was far more acceptable than what was being caused by cigarette smoke.

But the kind of reactions you're talking about, are worth a different kind of consideration. Again, if you're having the kind of reaction you described, whether you LIKE the liquid, isn't the issue, your body is telling you a different story. Stop using it.

I started with Cinnamon, 50/50 or >% VG. Though I hate to admit it, I guess I'm getting alittle older. 67 yo last June. I've experienced a few unexplainable symptoms/reactions to the concoctions I've mixed up since I started vaping. I'm strictly DIY or Blend w/off the rack store bought. When I stopped smoking tobacco cigarettes I had been smoking 50+ per day for several years. Means I'm sucking on something almost constantly except while sleeping. I've had 3 fever blisters, (cold sores), with no cold or fever. My nose sorta slightly drips. . .constantly while vaping. I developed facial pimples. And, worst of all. . .I've started coughing again. I haven't smoked a tobacco cigarette for more than 8 months. Hadn't coughed much during those months either. I think I've nailed it down to the Cinnamon flavoring. So, I'm doing tests, cutting back the flavoring. I may find I have to eliminate it altogether. If I have to. . .I will. But, I ain't a gonna like it. JMHO

I've heard a lot of negative things about cinnamon flavors in general. Harshness and mucosa irritation being among the bad side effects.

If atomic cinnacide is the best flavor for cinnamon then I dislike it very much. It's got to be the worst flavor next to tottaly wickeds e-juice. I didnt steep it but the way its so strong... idk its just a horrible flavor to me which is obviously subjective. It also stays in your atomizer which I havent had with any flavors on my 6v prodigy. I have this problem with all juices on my 3.7v Ego. Everyone loves this flavor but I hate it. If you like big red gum you will like this flavor. It smells exactly like it.

I had to give up my beloved Cinnamon, overdid it and fried my tongue. At the same time I accidentally forgot to add the Nicotine to my DIY blend. Now I'm 0Nic0FA, (Zero Nicotine Zero Flavor Added), my blend is straight VG + 25-50% PGA. Even at this, I still have sort a runny nose, slight dripping reaction to the VG. Can't imagine it's the Pure Grain Alcohol. Must be the VG. JMHO

I had to give up cinnamon flavored juices as well. I started with AC and within 3 months I developed some sort of intolerance to it, as I completely lost my voice. After a lot of drama, medical testing and research, I came to the conclusion that cinnamon was the sole culprit and gave it up. No problems with voice since. Real shame, as AC and Geoff's Blend were in my daily rotation:(

Eek, sorry to hear that. And it's the same story with a lot of people. We just react to things differently than others, if at all. But your health is more important. I hope you find an adequate substitute, even if it's not our liquids. Just stay away from the damned coffin nails.

It sounds like I'm in the minority. It's my everyday vape along with Tobacco/Menthol. I also combine those two flavors also. I am trying 2 new flavors this last order: Tin Box Mint and Cough drop to see if I can find something else to put into rotation. I've tried so many TV flavors that I still stick to those 2. The others are occational vapes. <shruggs>
