Bahrain Vaping Crisis

Many Bahrainis already know from the title what I'm talking about, in fact any vaper from gulf knows. vaping and its products are "Banned" in the Gulf countries. You can't buy them locally nor can you import them, but the mighty Hookah or Shisha is promoted which is even more harmful than cigarettes.

Many people who really want to vape, while returning from holidays abroad bring along a descent device and some juice. The main problem that these people face is that their e liquid gets over and I have that similar issue upcoming soon. Now, I can't keep going for vacations and bringing them along with me but I definitely can find an alternative.

There are 2 possible ways I can get e juice; either know someone with a possible medical drug import license who can legally import e juice (which I don't) or DIY! I have made e juice in the past and know my way around, but I'm not really sure where to get the necessary ingredients.

The first thought that came to my mind was just buying a gallon of PG and VG alongside some flavouring and just shipping them to Bahrain as I can't find any information on where to get PG and VG in Bahrain. But my main concern is, can a person for personal consumption order PG and VG? or do we need some kind of license. I know that there are people in Bahrain out there with the answer to my questions, but even in such a small country it's hard time finding answers. So, I put all my hope into this post and hope that someone who knows the solution responds.

Only places I've seen reports stating that are the same places I've seen reports saying vaping is worse than smoking

as for importation, There are a few companies that are a little more discreet about their international shipping, And I would recommend you find those out, might help, Unless its like... really bad illegal, and not like... just a confiscation illegal.
as for bringing it back in the country,
Checked baggage, without labels. or pour it in to different bottles....

@rex still banned dude. You can bring it along in luggage (safe, brought stuff many times). Bring liquid for the duration of stay!

Isn't smoking a hookah essentially like vaping? There's no combustion, the coal sits on a layer of aluminum foil and doesn't directly touch the tobacco, then the smoke/vapor passes through a water filter and through a pipe. Instead of juice you're using flavored tobacco but the process seems similar. Would they allow an e-hookah?

Another thing you could do is to start a Facebook/Twitter campaign and organize a rally or presentation or something of that nature. Bring some awareness and undeniable facts to the cause. It seems like a lot of the governments that ban ecigs right off the bat do so out of ignorance, it's a knee jerk reaction to something they don't understand yet. I was in Israel a while back and the government there also banned ecigs at one point but they have since reversed the ban. It's worth a shot!

PG VG is used in many processed foods and thousands of other things used on a daily basis... so I really dont see any issues in importing those 2 items. Flavoring can be another "no issue" situation since its already condoned for consumption. The nic on the otherhand is where things get difficult.... too many people/governments trying to get rid of it ... do you have any friends that live in the USA? it would take a bit more time in shipping but eventually you could get some thru secondary shipping methods... careful packageing and a change of containers/labels should get it through customs...

Nicotine is used for other things that generally are legal, such as weed killer, the problem is if it's packaged for those other purposes, it may not be purified enough for inhalation, so I would be VERY wary of obtaining nicotine that way. I have friends in other countries that use package forwarding services to get things that are not available to be shipped to their own country, I don't know if such a service well help you.

Bahraini here; I'm on the same boat. Got my RDA, got my 28ga kanthal and Koh Gan Do cotton, got my subtank mini.. Managed to get 1 vapewild package, they confiscated the 2nd and I'm out of juice. Back to the analogs.

What backward mentality bans the healthier alternative while hookas, shishas, analogs, "medwakhs" (if you are familiar with it ) etc are all readily available? Yeah, nice going with your supposed "looking out for our health" arguement... dumbasses.... sigh.

Btw, I know all the ins and outs of DIY, however, I don't wanna risk my stuff getting confiscated again. Any experiance with importing PG, VG and TFA/CAP etc flavors? Nicotine is out the window.

PG and VG are used to make cosmetics (creams and lotions) and there is a chance you could be able to pick up Glycerin in your local pharmacy (look near the cough syrups, especially in the children's section). You should have no problem importing PG, as it is used for baking as well, you might be able to find it where people order cosmetic ingredients from. Food flavours are many and should be available in all bakery supply sections, just make sure they are PG based, no oil based. (it should say on the back of the bottle). That just leaves you with having to get your hands on nicotine base, which could prove tricky without a license.

I might get my hands on PG and VG, however, I'm not comfortable using over the counter flavors as opposed to TFA/CAP. TFA/CAP provide the ingrediants used in their flavors (oil, pg, ethyl alcohol, coloring, diacetyl, Acetoin and AP etc) which over the counter flavors don't
