Yeah, the forum I believe was discussed in another thread somewhere. Apparently the guy that runs the forum works with Janty on their products, destroying any chance of the forum being "fair and balanced" without Janty's obvious ties with the forum.

I don't really see how a forum could be fair and balanced or the opposite. Even if the owners would be tied to a company then it's still the members who are posting. I've also copied my Dutch reviews onto that forum and I'm busy doing one in English at the moment. I'm not in any way tied to a company so what exactly would make you think my posts or reviews would be unfair and unbalanced?
We're having suppliers/manufacturers inhere who are moderator as well so that's basically the same thing.

This is the second or third thread I've seen about this. I'm failing to see what the big fuss is. It's not exactly deceptive nor is it a 'scam' in the least. It's clear you're being taken away from the Janty site and onto a forum log-in page.

I think you're overreacting and need to put it into perspective. You received a 10% off code for entering your e-mail address, money back into your pocket for less than 1 minute of effort. That's it.

It's not all that uncommon whether online or in real life. Have you any idea how many places people (myself included) have submitted their e-mail address/signed up somewhere to get a discount? I can't even keep up with them all.

Regardless, the moderators here that are suppliers don't operate and run the entire boards. There are more moderators than just one single guy that happens to be a partner with Janty, and he isn't even a supplier - he just has business ties with them.

Lull this isn't my third thread on the matter. The issue is this. ANY THING reminding me of the deciet of tobacco cigarette companies of the past makes me not want to inhale from this company ever again. And that happened in this case. Sorry. see ya. Bye bye. Please don't comment to me anymore on this thread. I am over it, and now I am indeed turning into a flamer/troller which I have never been accused of in my 18 or so years online until cigtest. I am Just someone with strong opinions. Which apparently I no longer am allowed to voice.

On the other hand the forum owners can do what they damn well like, although that doesn't make it ethical.

You got a 10% discount off for giving your email address basically and you are complaining.. And how is it at all possible that you werent aware you were leaving the Janty site? Unless this was your first time on the internet? *shrug*

Also, I dont see why this is Janty's fault. You dislike this 'ecigtest' site, so you refuse to buy Janty products even when you say you like them and have no problem with their service?

Am I the only one who is missing the point of this complaint? lol.. Janty this deal still up? I'll do it.

PS - For the future, you should always have 'side' emails that you signup or buy things online with, this way you get spam there where you dont need to look at it if it bothers you that much. If they even did send you spam...

Yeah that was kind of strange, but again, it's their forum. No one is forcing you to be there, no one forced you to do this deal, etc. And there is no one who can tell them who they do/dont want on their forum. Not even sure what forum we're talking about here, but the rule applies for all. Your roof, your rules.

I too was sucked into the e-cig test website too just because I wanted to see *HOW Great* the Discount was going to be for this Neat little mini fogger. But needless to say.. I tried to find a away out...Closing my account .. and well I couldn't find it. and on a More positive note after I got the discount code... IT DIDN'T EVEN WORK. I guess I wasn't one of the first 100 people..But hey they still have the discount link up if anyone else needs the code. So thanks..my new email is Gotcha@mailinator.com. One Customer that hasn't bought Janty products but Would have.. and probably will not now.. It's Just not good business practices when you send someone to another forum or website to get a discount code and MAKE THEM REGISTER TO GET IT.. Just MY opinion..doesn't really need a response..Just unsatisfied and disappointed with a Name brand E-cig company with patents that would do something like that..

No you aren't alone. Nowhere in either of the threads have I seen any sort of rational explanation as to why he feels so deeply betrayed other than complaining that he had to sign up for a forum in order to gain access to a private post that contained the 10% off code. Somewhere in there was some paranoid thought that some company/entity was paying so-and-so for his 'information'. Oh and he's upset because he was banned from a forum that he wanted nothing to do with in the first place, which makes even less sense.

name one other site (Name Brand) that directs you to register on a forum to get a discount code for their own website? Why not just have the code available for the first 100 people and then take it off?
