Banned vs. Illegal

There are currently lots of areas where smoking is banned, but the act of smoking is still legal through out the USA.
I think the confusion people have with these 2 words is paramount.

True, but the NY Bill and the FDA and others want ecigs forbidden by law, I think.

Yes, that's what I heard. There are lots of articles about the ban in New York for instance. Just google for it.

The way I see it and I could be wrong is they banned the sale of e-cigs in NY you can still have them . Is that right?

In the world of e-cigs, from the stance of the FDA, a ban of e-cigs would constitute the importing, marketing, and selling of them. They would not be illegal to own and be in possession of by consumers.


So a Ban for the Seller would constitute illegal activity should the FDA have their way.

As for places to use the E-cig, if you are using it in a banned location, it is illegal.

I think it still has to get the final vote
and then the governor of NY would have to outright blatantly refuse to veto the bill.
