Hello borockster,

I've been using the same battery, the Ultrafire 18650 3000 mah battery, since January in my Grand with 1.5 Ω attys. They work perfectly fine. When mine die I'll move to the IMRs but for now they have been doing the job and doing it well.

I have a brand new pair of 18650 3000mah Ultra fire batts and a charger that I got from Cree flashlight. I bought these in anticipation of a mod that is being built for me right now. Are they safe to use? Or should I just chuck em' and order something different? I am not a newb but the batt stuff (brands etc) are confusing. Thanks in advance for any help and sorry for the hijack...

I bought the trustfire charger that purports to turn off when the battery is charged. Does that actually work? I sure hope so... :)

Yes, it should turn off when the battery is charged. I would charge the batteries and when the indicator shows it charged I would then use a multimeter to check on the voltage of the battery. At least do this the first time charging to give you some peace of mind. After that check it periodically. You could also leave the battery on for a few hours after it shows that its charged then multimeter it again just to double check that it has indeed stopped charging.
