batteries for 18490

Ok, so I'm anxiously anticipating the metal 18490's. I have some imr18490 batteries but was wondering if any of the 18500's that are around would be close in length for me to try. I got the new(?) 18650's from panasonic for my grand and love them. Hoping someone has had the chance to check them out but my job is a bear and now it's spring so I also have to make time for planting and mowing, etc. Thanks!

The difference in height between an IMR 18490 and a battery labeled 18500 is one millimeter, IF those 18500 are actually 50 millimeter's tall. AW IMR 18490's are THE battery for a Reo 18490. 14500's can also be used in a Reo 18490, but the IMR 18490 is a much nicer battery. Premium devices deserve premium batteries.
