hey everybody,
I got a 30% off coupon for a website, and i'm getting the ipv mini along with a aspire atlantis. i really wanted a lemo drop but they are out of stock at the moment, and the atlantis is my second choice for now. I already have a couple samsung 25r's, but i wanted to get a fresh battery or two for the ipv mini. I'm just not sure what to be looking for in terms of batteries for a regulated mod. i believe the minimum for the ipv mini is .5 ohm, and it fires up to 30w. plugging that into steam engine i am getting 7.75Amps max.

So my choices for 18650s are
  • purple efest 2500mah 20/35a
  • imren imr 2600mah 20/38a
  • panasonic ncr 2900mah 10a

Since the max amp limit for 30w at .5ohms is 7.75amps, i was leaning towards the panasonics, i have read they have good batteries and that is the highest mah. but the other two have higher amp ratings, not sure if i will need that though. or should i just keep using my samsungs that i have only charged 2 times each, i just got them for a mech that i received last week. recommendations please?
thanks, Kyle

I'd recommend them in the order that you have them except remove the Panasonic 10A cell, cutting it too close with the Atlantis. Personally, I'd go with the Samsung 25R or LG HE2 cells. I'm running a LG HE2 cell in my IPV Mini with the Atlantis with great results.

What do you plan to use for a charger or are you going to rely on the IPV Mini pass through charging?

I have a nitecore I2 that i bought when i got the samsungs. The batteries that i listed were what is available on the site that i have the discount for. they had the samsungs last week but are out of stock now, that was what i was originally going to get. Ill pick up one of the purple efests and see how it works, i always have the samsungs for backup. Thanks for the input.

Any idea if there is a down side to using the pass through? i mean id imagine it will take longer, but will it still give it a full charge? The only regulated ive used up till this point is an istick so im not too familiar on how the removable batteries function in a regulated mod.

Yeah I can't wait to try it out. Hopefully I'll be able to find a good deal on a lemo drop soon, dripping is a bit high maintenance for me but I like building coils. Probably better that I got the efests now that I think of it, I'll still be able to use them with an RTA or my mutation if I'm in the mood for it. But I'm sure the Atlantis will keep me busy for a while.
