Why too short? You can stretch the spring in the endcap a few times, they are a replaceable item, and recommended to be changed at about one or two years time. Provape only charges about a buck for them, well worth it to grab a few. Replacement ProVari 2.5 Spring

Also, check to see if your board is tight in the tube. Take a Q-tip just moistened with a little isopropyl alcohol an clean the center pin on the board. While doing this, apply a little pressure and side to side motion perpendicular to the circuit board and see if it "wiggles" a little bit. If it moves at all, the glue dots holding the board tight to the tube may have come loose, and the board may have shifted. This will require opening a ticket with Provape to have them re-glue the board into the tube...hope this helps.

Efest makes both 18490 and 18500 button tops. Efest IMR 1100mAh 18500 V2 Button-Top These will not last through as many charge cycles as AW, but they work fine in my ProVari 2 and 2.5.
Fantastic price! I wonder why SO cheap.

The Aw 18490 has always felt a tad loose in all my standards. But, my new blue P2.5 sometimes won't even fire with them. I'll go ahead and check the board and the spring. This is a brand new item. But, I guess, even brand new can have problems.

I can feel a difference in spring tension amongst my many ProVari's, and I do have more than a couple;) I tend to give the springs a little stretch from time to time on any of them that seem a little loose. I like to see the button light do the blinky thing when the threads first begin to engage.
