Im ordering a proveri at the end of the week and when looking at battery options they recomend aw high drain but offer a 2500mah battery but I don't think aw makes such a battery so I'm hoping someone might have some insight into these batteries I use aw but never high drain thanks

AW IMR's are always less mah but they are better are holding the voltage up. And people say the exorbitant mah claims of the protected Lithium Ion ones don't really pan out and end up being more like the mah stated for the AW's anyway. The one thing you don't want to buy is unprotected.
Also Provari wants you to use AW IMR - I would use what they want.

To get the full effect of the Provari, you will need high drain batteries.
I got a couple of their higher mAh batteries when I bought my Provari. They work fine, with the spacing ring and extended bottom, but do not really give me that much more vape time than the high drain AW IMR 1600mAh batteries that I already had. (The high drain AW IMR 1600mAh batteries need the extended bottom also, but not the spacing ring.)
The 2500mAh's seem to be protected versions of the AW IMR, but with the company sticker over them, it is hard to tell without cutting open a perfectly good battery, which I am loath to do. Sometimes the extra hour or two of vape time is worth it. (The 1600mAh usually only last me 8-9 hours, but I tend to vape more than most, so adjust to your vape style.)
Edit: As dormouse said, they strongly recommend the AW IMR, but also say that the 2400mAh batteries they sell were tested with and work well with the Provari.

the 2500mah provari power batteries are fine I've been using them for 2 months they work great and last about 2 days they didn't always sell them they just started offering them right about the time I bought my first provari, I know it's confusing because they say on the site in big red letter IMR only then they turn around and sell the protected 2500mah batteries but they are perfectly ok to use or they wouldn't sell them.
