nice. what is a charger bag? something to keep a fire from starting? and your probably right i should just throw that bad battery away instead of messing with it like i have been haha.

From sounds of it when you put in the +- and -+ and had that fire...that's probably what caused your battery problem. You basically created a short and the batteries were drained as quickly as they could giving off all that heat and smoke.

There's one of those charger bags. I always wondered if it was good to have them charging with so much heat in a small area. You would think that charger and battery would be hotter than normal in an enclosed area. Kind of like covering yourself in a blanket it keeps your heat inside. I've never used one...need to know more about them to see if it is needed or worthy investment.

Stacking in a Vamo has been working for me for a year now without any problems, I'm very careful as I know of possible problems, I mark them 1-1 2-2 3-3 etc and keep them paired I also alternate which goes on top.

From a recharge my Vamo reads them at 8.2, and well give a Lo V @ 6.7. I never turn my Vamo off, ever. I Vape 3-4 rigs routinely so NO the Vamo well not drain battery, however like most batteries they well lose power when just sitting around, ie on a shelf in a mod etc.

I change the batteries right after Lo V is reported but dont charge them for an hour after removing. Good to let them rest first. I use a charger bag around my Nitecore just in case, as well as any battery I charge.

I don't recommend stacking, but many do it as do I. I'll assume your an adult, so do as u please but take the above precautions.

Vape On, ohhhh buy new batteries if they don't charge. Don't play around with used ones.

Hmm, so the vamo shows low voltage even when stacking - interesting, thanks for the clarification Talyon.

Yeah I got 2 18350's...I'll test it out when I get back from work Friday night. Not sure I want to drain them down to 6.7 to test I was just curious if it would give you the double voltage reading. It's safe to marry them once isn't it? I mean I never stack so it won't hurt to do it just to test would it?

To correct my numbers, stacked start out @ 8.4 and the Vamo well report Lo V @ 6.7 or 6.4 can't remember exactly, point being the Vamo will shut off in stacked mode, it's built to do this as most boards are.

I'm sure u will be fine stacking once then going bck to single. Remember batteries venting don't occur very often, consider how many stack vs reported incidences etc. most I've seen are ego style plugged into a car charger etc. I'm not saying it can't happen, which is why I take all precautions reported on ECF by other members.

Baditude has great blogs on batteries etc, please look him up here on ECF, for further info.

Best to yah....

If a vamo will shut down at 3.2 V with a single battery, how does it know to shut down at 6.4V when stacked?

I'm guessing it assumes anything greater than 5V or some magic X Volts that it has stacked batteries in it. I think almost all of the 18650 batteries have a max rating of around 4.25 so it probably just assumes anything over that or some other magic number that it has 2 batteries in it's compartment?
