I have a Reo Grand vv coming in the mail. I do own a bunch of aw 350's so I'm not worried about this. However, I was wondering...

Can I use a single 650 in this mod if I only plan to set it to about 3.5v?

Also does the vv unit shut down on you if the batteries get to a low voltage like how a kick does?

Not sure if it will fit or whatnot. Sorry if this is a stupid question.

unsure

Rob's choice. :) Yes it does and won't work if the Ω is too low.

No, no, no to the 18650 in the VV Grand. Use the AW IMR 18350 X2.

The VV Grand will stop working when the batteries are really low around 2.5. Any IMR should not be run below 3.2 - 3.5 volts. The life time of the battery will be longer if you pull and charge when they are around 3.2-3.5. They will also perform much better with the frequent charging.

Just know that draining the batteries to that voltage causes them sometimes to not recharge. When your vape becomes weaker, change them before you get to that "no workie" voltage. It's usually the bottom battery. I've done it 3 times and all 3 won't recharge. not many cycles on the either (AW).

I shall!

I am just worried about the two batteries moving about, doesn't seem like it would be as sturdy as the single 650 as I did not see a bar in the middle of the mod in the pics like the normal reo has to keep the batt in place.

I'm just wondering if the normal mech reo would be too much power on a 1.7 ohm carto using the single batt. Guess I could get 2 ohm cartos. Seems like the vv takes care of that worry lol

I use to run 1.5 L.R. atty's on my mechanicals all the time. Now I run a coil between 1.0 and 1.3 ohms. People are even going sub ohm on the mechanical REO's with the RM2. Robert is coming out with a special kit for people running sub ohm. It will negate the voltage drop and melting buttons that we are seeing now.

The two batteries in the VV Grand do tend to shift a little. Easy fix with a thin piece of plastic between them and the bottle.
