I wouldn't skimp on a battery, not that your choice is skimpy, it's just safety in numbers. Friends have had issues one too many times around me. I'd reccomend the best batteries you can get, for any device. I got a few from TKO vapors, and they performed phenomenally. I've seen a few reviews on the lavacell from Volcanoecigs, and I'm going to pick up a few. But if you are going to be subbing, do a little research into Ohms law, it couldn't hurt. You would get a better understanding of batteries and what they can handle, and you'd have a better understanding in electrical. It's just a great choice haha, but I defiantly suggest any battery with an amperage of over twenty. I personally go for the highest amperage I can get, so I'm using 26650 mech mods now. I don't mind what other people use, I just want to make sure they stay safe.

    I agree.
Those lavacell's aren't 35A though, probably a decent 20A/2500mAh battery. Always best to stick with batteries that aren't rewrapped versions of batteries you can buy for less.

Ok how do I work out how much current will be drawn from the mod?

    I don't know what I'm talking about.

But I will go for a VTC5 as they are spoken about quite highly.

Max Amps = Max Watts / Mod Low Cutoff Voltage

    For your subox...Max Amps = 50 / 3.2V = 15.6A (correct my 3.2V number if necessary).

I highly recommend the 20A LG HG2 3000mAh. A great battery that will let you go longer before charging than the 20A VTC5 2600mAh.

I'm not too great understanding stuff like this. But the ohms of coils won't change anything will it? It just stays the same

As long as the coils are within the mod's specifications, no problem. If you vape at, let's say, 30W the Subox will adjust itself to reach 30W no matter what coil(s) you use.

Oops, I think I misread your post...

No, nothing will change. For a regulated mod the coil resistance doesn't matter (within the mod's limits). The highest current can always be determined by that equation when in VW mode.
