Well, I think the government's stance on exploding batteries may be, "Well, that taxpayer may one day be a valid source of tobacco money.... If he or she lives, but if they die, well, at least it's one less annoy-- I mean vaper we gotta deal with."

I am only a smidge in jest. Just a smidge.

How did u calculate 103 watts? What build do u need to reach its max?
Astro Turf did the calculations in his previous post to come up with 103 watts. Ohm's Law, baby.

AstroTurf's calculations says your 0.35 ohm resistance and 6 volts will have a 17.14 "amp draw" on your HexOhm.

Using two batteries in series doubles the voltage (8.4 volts), but the HexOhm limits the total voltage to just 6 usable volts. Using two batteries in series does not double the amp limit or the mAh; the amp limit and capacity is the same as if you were using only a single battery.

So doing the Ohm's Law calculation, the amp draw of a 0.35 resistance and 6 volts is 17 amps. A single VTC4 has a 23 amp limit, so you would not be exceeding the amp limit of that battery.

Explain it to the Dumb Noob: Ohm's Law Calculations for a Mechanical Mod

I run my hex ohm on full power all the time. Batterystore.com is sending me samsung 20S. Mooch rates them at 30 amp batteries. I looked it up.

Hopefully from 18650batterystore.
The one without 18650 in the name is notorious for selling whatever they get without concern if they're authentic.

Good choice of cells, hope you bought at least 4, 2 for yours, 2 for your wife's.
8 cells even better.

I bought 12 batteries. 3 sets for each of us.

As long as I never change Ill never have an issue. I have rolls of the same wire I always use.

Only if you have an accurate way to measure resistance.
Recheck resistance every now & then while vaping especially after rewicking.
Check grub screws for tightness regularly, never have a leg or coil come into contact with metal parts of atty or cap.
Never have a wire or strand of wire break...

Well, you get the idea, the list goes on.

If you don't understand what is going on and how it works, your not safe. You need to understand a mech, not just find a build and stick with it. Here is some very important articals you desperately need to read.

(8) A Beginner's Guide to Your First Mechanical Mod | E-Cigarette Forum
Im reading it now. But the Hex Ohm is still regulated. It wont fire if somethings wrong. It has safety features. Its not really a mech mod. Wud putting true 30 amp batteries in it make it hit harder or will it stay the same because of the build?

Same. You will be pulling the same amps, and running the same watts.

It does have some basic safety built in, but trusting that wholey is never the best plan.

I have a regulated box I check my ohms on whenever I rewick.

I just wasted 65 bucks then cause I just bought 12 samsung 20S. Mooch rates them at 30 amps. I got 3 pair for me and 3 pair for my wife. Guess I wasted my money unless I change my build ugh?

You didn't waste your money. You bought quality batteries that will replace your Chinese re-wraps. Good move in my book.

The hex ohm is still partially a mech, just with basic safeties (that don't always kick in every single time from what I hear). So studying the ohms law and mech safety links is still very much encouraged.

First I don't understand why you're responding to your own quotes.

Second, why is it a waste? They're good batteries that more than meet your requirements.
