@BillW50 , what actual evidence do you have which proves Aspire batteries are any "safer" for vaping than the batteries made by Lg, Samsung, Sanyo, or Sony? That PBusardo video you keep bringing up proved nothing (yes I have watched it at least twice). It's an interesting video, but just marketing hype when all is said and done.

Vapers don't drill holes through their batteries (at least none that have any common sense don't). What does that really prove?

How can any company insure that their batteries will not explode? Aspire is using the same chemical recipes that the other companies do. They have the same physical construction that all cylindrical batteries have. All battery companies test their batteries for heat tolerances and manufacturing quality control.

Then why did Tony (I think that is the owner's name of Aspire) spend all of that money in a controlling interested and changed the way how the Yongdeli Battery Company made their batteries for? Why spend millions on a company to just rewrap them anyway? That makes no sense to me.

And Aspire lists the specs for vaping, performing tests to insure their batteries are safer for vaping. Geez they even test by drilling through a cell and insure their batteries won't explode in your mod. How much safer can you manufacture batteries that won't explode in high heat and won't blow by shorting the plates together with a drill bit? That is far different than other battery companies. Nor does other companies test them in mods either.

People can say anything, heck why not buy a controlling share in a battery company and sell the same old thing that has been sold. Then make a "new" labelled battery and sell it too. By having a controlling share, one no longer has to buy batteries to re-wrap, one just wraps them with whatever they want.

On the other side of what you're saying about Aspire's quality, many of us have trouble believing it because of them over stating their batteries before. Things may be different now but it takes time to prove it.

Then even their own site, to me is a little off putting. They laud how much better it out performs others but then goes on to push using it in the mod with built in protection. Now nothing wrong with protection but if a battery is so much better in power and safety, why even mention a mod with safety built in.

I get they make mods but why not just mention using it in the mod they make, why spout mod safety after talking up the battery? Seems strange to me to advertise a safer more powerful battery, then follow with a mod ad about safety. It comes off like they don't have much faith in their own product to me. I could be wrong, heck probably am, but as a consumer it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I'll stick with more proven brands with a stronger history for now, who knows what the future will hold.

The story that Busardo and Tony of Aspire tells is that Tony didn't want to rewrap batteries which he has no control over the safety of the batteries for mods. I got that and every vaper should get that. So he spent a lot of money into a battery company that allowed him to have total control over how the cells are made and what the quality control would be. Sounds like a good plan to me. :)

Oh gosh Bad! Taking a drill bit through a lithium cell (especially an IMR chemistry) is like one of the most explosive things that could happen to a cell. As your not just dead shorting the terminals, but going directly inside and shorting the plates directly with a drill bit. If Samsung had their Galaxy Note 7 batteries pass this same test, there wouldn't have been any worries. But instead, they caught on fire.

How can any company insure that their batteries will not explode? Aspire is using the same chemical recipes that the other companies do. No not all of the companies use the same chemical recipes. If they did, what difference would there be between say a Samsung and a Sony? There would be none. But chemical recipes are a trade secret and I seriously doubt you are going to find out who uses what. Sure the standard recipe is known, but they are indeed a difference. Some recipes make the cell safer and some make the cell more dangerous, yet more powerful.

One thing I like better than IMR cells is LiFe cells. They are far safer chemically, take heat better, and can stand up to tons of abuse. They are not totally safe from exploding, but dang near tough to get them to do so. DNAs can use them, but I can't think of any other mods that can use them.
