So I'm getting a sigelei zmax mini in a co-op and it will be my first mod that uses changeable batteries (I use a mvp2 atm)

Everyone talks about the sony batteries and it seems like they are the most popular. I am confused on which sony 18650 would be best for me.

[h=3]18650 Sony US18650V3 2250mAh High Discharge Flat Top - $5.80[/h]
[h=3]18650 Sony US18650VTC3 1600mAh High Discharge Flat Top - $7.25[/h]
[h=3]18650 Sony US18650VTC4 2100mAh High Discharge Flat Top - $8.50[/h]
I am confused since I thought the higher mAh battery would be more expensive but the 2250 is the cheapest? So which one should I get? I won't really be using a RDA, I'm going to use mostly protank/iclear/aspire tanks. Which battery would last the longest?

and for a charger I was thinking about getting the Nitecore intellicharge i2 or i4 from the same site as the batteries. any advice would be much appreciated.

I use standard heads, so 1.8-2.1

1600 mah and 2100 mah are both 30 amp discharge rate, you don't need that much if your not going for sub ohm coils.
so the 2250mAh is a good choice and its IMR a much safer chemistry than Li cobalt, if the battery decides to vent IMR will off gas and swell up but Li cobalt can shoot flames across the room in a worst case scenario.

Short answer : 18650 Sony US18650V3 2250mAh High Discharge Flat Top [Sony US18650V3 2250] - $5.80 : Illumination Supply, Quality Flashlights and More! is the one you want

Considering the Zmax only, you don't need more than 10A. I would go with the Panasonic NCR18650PF 2900mAh 10A for my first choice and the NCR18650PD 2900mAh 10A as my second choice. Both of these give you more mAh which means they will last longer between charges.

The higher output batteries like the two Sony's you mentioned are more useful for sub-ohm vaping because of the higher power requirements that puts on batteries. Now, if you think you will be doing this and want to use these batteries for that too, they are great choices and I would chose the Sony US18650VTC4.

Here's the best deal i've seen so far. I ordered from them and received my stuff very quickly (3 days in california).

You get 4 sony 30 amp batts (vtc4's) and a nitecore i4 charger for under 50 bucks

OK this is the answer your looking for: for the zmax you don't need a high discharge battery, I'm assuming your using carto tanks, or cartos in any fashion. When your running cartos you don't need a high drain battery so you can get a higher mah battery and it will last longer. The give and take with batteries is generally speaking higher discharge rate with lower mah, (longevity) or the opposite. With your zmax your going to want more mah while running Cartomizers because your not going to lower ohms. Hence the previous question about sub ohm.
I noticed you said zmax mini, this uses a shorter in size 18350, not an 18650.

I'm my opinion and probably everyone else as well, you should get some AW IMR 18350 's. Be careful they all a lot of fake ones. AW is the best for your zmax mini.

The red ones are AW IMR 18350 's shorter, used for vamo v3, provari mini, and zmax MINI, All VV mods, using carto tanks.

The green ones are Sony 30V 18650' s used for mechanical mods running RBA's

Tbev is the only one who caught that the Segelei Zmax MINI uses an 18350 size battery. Kudos to him or you would have purchased batteries that would not have fit in the mini.

You'll want the red AW 18350 IMR 700mAh batteries. Not as much of a selection in this size of battery, but the AW IMR is the best of the few available. I use these batteries in my Provari Mini.

Either the i2 or i4 Nitecore chargers are good choices for your charger. The i2 can charge two batteries at a time, the i4 can charge four batteries at a time. My daughter uses the i2 and I use the i4.

Ahhhh, you should have stated that in your first post.

May I recommend the following batteries then. They are high-drain, and have a much higher mAh capacity for longer battery use between charges than the Sony batteries listed above. You don't need 30 amps for your ZMax like the Sony's have, they are better suited for sub-ohm coils which your ZMax can't do anyway.

NCR18650PF 2900mAh 10A
NCR18650PD 2900mAh 10A

Both are made by Panasonic. Orbtronic uses the exact same Panasonic batteries and just re-wraps them with their black logo jackets. Best high-drain, high-capacity batteries on the market. Both batteries can be found at Orbtronic.

Baditude is right, I have some of those panasonics, I got them for my dad who uses them while he's working, he drives a truck and works 18hr a day. He is on his second month of vaping, have up 2plus packs a day for 30 years. He likes the panasonic.

I would recommend getting at least one 18350 (AW) BC your going to prefer running the smaller battery, way more convenient being smaller. IMHO.

There are way more bad reviews for those batteries than would be acceptable to me.

Ok here is some logic that makes sense to me that some people prolly won't like. The provari mini is the best vv device you can buy, it takes an 18350, the company that makes it says to only use AW IMR 18350 BATTERY.

I'd never heard of the EH brand until a couple of months ago. I've read of mixed results about them; possibly why they are so inexpensive.

Batteries are NOT created equal. The way I see it, your batteries and your charger are the key elements of your vaping setup. It makes sense to me to go with proven quality over time since you are putting a potential explosive device up to your face multiple times a day. The few dollars you might save every 12 - 18 months by purchasing cheaper batteries of questionable quality just isn't worth it to me. It makes sense to go with the safest batteries available.

AW brand IMR batteries have the reputation of being the safest battery sold. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/129569-rechargeable-batteries.html Is that hype? Maybe. However, there's no question that AW batteries have been the most popular brand for several years, they are the most recommended by mod manufacturers, and the most counterfeited battery on earth. My guess is that they have earned that reputation. They are just about the only battery that I have used. The few times I've tried other brands I've been disappointed in the results.
