This might not be the right place to post this but I couldn't find anything on a battery sub-forum (battery junkies maybe?)
Anyway I just got 4 new 18650 batts seen here ..my question is it normal for the charger to get warm to the touch while charging? thx!

Is it the charger that feels warm, or the batteries? And what's the charge current on the charger (also, what charger is that, I don't recognize it)?

It's the LUC V4 charging 4 batts at
0.5A..all 4 batts and charger are fairly warm (but not hot) after 3hrs.
batts are still not fully charged yet..

Maybe ok, maybe not...i do not think AWT is a battery manufacturer, only a rewrapper! That "40A" is surely not the reality...

New AWT 40A Batteries Trustable?
I've been using awt batts for the past year in my RX200 mods without any issues at all

The thing with rewraps is they can change what's under the wrapping at any time, so while the last set were fine that's no guarantee this one will be. If these were getting warmer than the ones you're used to, it's an indication that something may be wrong. It's certainly different.

Also, how old is the Efest LUC v4? There was an issue with an earlier version overcharging batteries, although they fixed that sometime in 2014. You can read the reviews here, if you're interested:

Yes its normal batteries to get warm during charging.

Never used that kund of charger byr if its a 1 amp charger it could take 12-18 hours to charge 4 18650s..with a 2 amp charger itvwill still take 6-8 hours.

4 18650 batteries you are looking at 10,000 mah and up
