trustfire tr-001 the batters i dont know the brand.
That happens to be one of the worse chargers available. Bottom of the barrel quality. Don't trust a Trustfire.

You need a reputable charger from Xtar, Nitecore, or Efest.

If you can't identify the battery brand or its chemistry, those batteries must be considered to be dangerous. An unknown battery of unknown quality from an unknown manufacturer isn't worth the risk. For all you know, its a rewrapped battery harvested from an old laptop computer. It happens.

Get some appropriate IMR batteries that are brand name from a reputable vendor like RTD Vapor, Lighthound, Orbtronics, or Illumination Supply. Be sure to get IMR batteries -- safe chemistry (unprotected) and high drain.

Battery Basics for Mods

Don't skimp on batteries or charger, they are the most important, and dangerous, pieces of gear in your setup. It's not worth risking your home, yourself, or others.

AW 18650 IMR 2000mah is always a good choice if you get one that is authentic. Again, my above post has reputable vendors. These vendors also sell the recommended chargers that I listed. Google search is your friend.

Any of the 18650 batteries with 10 amps in the above link will suffice.

I have the Tesla VV-VW mod, and I would recommend using AW IMR batteries or Sony VTC series (if you can find them).
I believe the Sony batteries are currently being rebranded to Xtar something..

Like Baditude said, go to rtdvapor.com and you can rest assured that you will get authentic, quality batteries that you can trust.
For a charger, I have the Intellicharger i4... the i2 is good also, the only difference is 4 bays or 2 bays...

Something happened to quality with the Trustfire chargers. There's been problems with AC cords that pop or burn and DOA charger reports here and there from ECF members. I have a TR-001 that I've had for about 3 1/2 years and it's never even burped. Sometimes I take it with me on vacation because it's small and fits in the glove compartment. I used it daily until I bought a Nitecore Intellicharger i4. Recently, I bought an Efest LUC 4 charger (4 charging bays) for the actual voltage readings in the display. Either is good. The Nitecore goes for $15-$20 and is a good, reliable charger. The Efest LUC 4 is somewhere north or south of $40 depending on where you buy it. There's also a LUC 2 dual bay model that sells for about half that.

I'm puzzled about where you got the 3v charge option on the TR-001. Mine has a 4.2v 500ma charge rate spec on the UL label with 110VAC or 12VDC input options. I don't know of a battery that charges at 3v that would be compatible with Li-ion ICR or LiMn lMR batteries. 3.0v may be the cutoff point for the Tesla where it signals you that the battery needs charging.

At any rate, you want to charge your batteries at 4.2vdc. The Trustfire is one of those chargers that continues to trickle charge after it reaches 4.2v on the battery (not a safe practice). Monitor it when it's charging and don't just leave it in there after the green LED says it's ready. For longer life, swap them out of your Tesla when they hit 3.5v and put them on charge.

Don't go price shopping when buying batteries. Where you buy batteries is as important as which battery you choose.

There are several good batteries to choose from. This is what I choose to use, and here is a list of "authorized" resellers.

and this is why you pay attention to where you buy batteries.
