I just peeled the coating off of an UltraFire 18650 3000mah battery in my GGTS. I started to insert one and it seemed tight. I thought that one may have swollen some and i tried a second one. It went in snugly but then wouldn't slide down all the way, so I decided to remove it. When I did it peeled about an inch of the insulation off of the bottom 1/4 of the battery. The TrustFire 18650 2400mah fit fine, I guess the red 3000mah are a little bit wider. It is possible all UtraFires are a little wider, I only have the 3000mah version.

Since this thread is for the battery compatibility of all GGs, I should probably note that these batteries work great in the GGT and last for a very long time!

I just received some Tenergy lifepo4's from Lisa at cloud9 and i'm very impressed ,ok they cost more than lithium-ion's and have a slightly lower mAh but think of it this way, they have 4 times the life cycle of lithium ions and most importantly offer a much safer chemistry.

Factor this into your costings and they win hands down, i will be completely moving over to safer chemistry batteries in the very near future, seems crazy not to really

I love them too Alan, LiFePOs are the way of the future I think. These particular ones just feel so much better in quality too don't they?

Agreed Lisa, seems a strange comment to make about a battery but it's true, i used to use GTL li-ions and although they are a decent battery the wrappings were sometimes a bit flakey.

These Tenergy's are wrapped really securely, vape great and although the GTL i was using were rated at 1200 mAh, the tenergy's rated at 750 mAh weren't far behind in performance, so maybe the tenergy's are showing a truer mAh?

But most importantly you can't put a price on piece of mind :thumb:

I find this funny because my Trustfire 18650 2400mah won't fit in mine but my UltraFire 18650 3000mah fit with room to spare and the same with UltraFire 18650 2600mah. I was shocked!8-o

Ok guys ..I have a security related question
I am using 2 cr123 green 3V each batteries for vaping at 6V
When they are fully charged, the voltometer says about 3.3V each
After vaping for 2-3 hours,I have no smoke and when I use the voltometer, it says 2.6V each ...This means that I should not using these batts again or it is normal ?

That sounds right ggero, 2.6v if fine for a 3v battery, if it falls below 2.1v then it is over discharging

Just realised I completely missed replying to this question the other day.
VT, the red batteries are indeed a tight fit in the GG Telescopic and some do not fit at all and we do not recommend them for the GGTS. There was a long discussion about it on the forum a while back and although Imeo wanted to try and accomodate these batts if he could on the newer batch of GGTS, the upshot of it was that the GGTS internal diameter could not be changed to fit these out of spec sized batteries.
I do not sell the 3000 mAh ones for this reason and I think Rob has a note on his site about it also.

Lisa, I've found out of my 10 18650 batteries 6 fit in the GGTS find and 4 don't. The crazy part is the only ones that don't fit are the 2400mah trustfire. All of my 3000mah and my 2600mah fit fine in it with room to spare. This leads me to my point. I think that it's just a roll of the dice with these batteries as to if they will fit or not. I wouldn't know about the 3000mah or 2400mah if I didn't have them laying around to try out. I would suggest to all that no matter the "mah" rating that they may or may not fit just to be safe.

Very good point Wood - it just depends whether the Chinese have kept to their spec or not. These batts are supposed to measure 18mm - with protection, this increases, and you can get away with rougly 18.35mm in the TS, but I've noticed that sometimes it's just down to a PCB that's not actually on very centrally. So as you say, it's the luck of the draw sometimes I think.
