Hello, my questions are more of the DIY nature but until I get my 5 posts i'll ask here, hope no one minds.
I'm very into DIY I've got most of the components I need for building my own PV I was mainly concerned with the battery contacts. I have plenty of 18G half hard SS and 16G 3/4 tempered (surgical stainless if memory serves) (EDIT: I'm refering to steel wire incase I wasn't clear) I was hoping to use for the negative contact. Safety is my top concern. Does anyone know if either of the wires would serve better or neither should be used? I also am looking for ideas for making or salvaging the positive contact.
If it helps I planed to build the battery casing in a split piece of pvc that will be inside a larger metal tube.
Thank you, and forgive my verbosity.
