ICR and IMR are both Li-ion batteries. The differences between the two are well discussed on this thread, but both are Li-ion.

All the AW IMR batteries I have are Li-Mn batteries... Not all IMR batteries are Li-Ion. The Chinese make a blue IMR unbranded battery that you usually see in like Lavatube and a few other VV kits and such, and yes, they are a Li-Ion protected battery. Just thought I should add that little bit of info to what you put out there. Sometimes there is way too much confusion when it comes to batteries...

They still utilize lithium, therefore they are a lithium ion cell. IMR, ICR, IFR are all Li-Ion.

But as shown in this thread, that doesn't make them all inherently interchangeable or proper for all applications.

But I'm a stickler for semantics...

I see this general drive that the highest mah rating is the most desirable, and this simply is not the case. Finding a battery with appropriate C rating should always be a priority.

i wouldn't use ether of those battery's neither of them are high drain or protected
they both sound like a recipe for disaster to me,
realistically chances are that ether would work fine and you would probably never have any problems that said,
i believe the samsungs battery's are 3amp max same with the Panasonic and the Zmax can draw up to 4 amps
so could potentially over work the batterys and possibly cause a failure,i would just get yourself some good AW's
or any of the other high drain (10 amp) protected batterys that are available these days.
dont just get caught up on the Mah ratings that should only be considered after protection and high drain requirements.
