Most people have no idea how easy a battery can short if left unprotected where it could come in contact with another metal object, even for a second. Yep, that accident was the guys own fault for having an unprotected battery in his pocket with another metal object, and I'm extremely unhappy to read of yet another accident that's being blamed on ecigs not being safe when the blame should be placed on human error.

But was he given ANY instruction when he bought that ecig and/or batteries that could happen ? If he was and he ignored it then he got what he deserved and the blame is ALL his, but if he wasn't given any information from anyone in any form then I find it hard to give total blame to him alone.

I considered giving several of my family members LED flashlights for christmas that carry an 18650 that can be charged internally and decided I probably won't do that because even if I explain the special care they need to take with the battery will they follow through? I believe people who use mods with replacable batteries should be able to do a watts law calculation from memory and be able to apply that to the battery and watts setting and they should watch a youtube video of a battery being deliberately vented.

Nearly all these accidents involve loose batteries or mech mods. If somebody offered to sell you a mech hand drill or phone, meaning no battery protection, you would say they have wreckless disregard for your safety yet unprotected ecigs are supposed to be acceptable? If you want to use mechs that's your choice but promoting them is irresponsible.

I learned not to carry loose batteries here before buying them, we can't expect everybody to do the research but I've seen first hand how people don't want to take the time to learn this even if the information is posted in the same site they buy from.

Did a friend post it? Educate and unfriend. Lol.

No friend of mine but I did post a funny Meme about the Darwin award winner number 10! Got lots of likes and more asking about corroborating evidence or more facts and apparently there isn't any. Not following it or doing any research because we all know it was USER ERROR!
