Hi,
Having vaped for well over a year, I noticed my batteries seem to go bad faster than I would like.

x2 650 - over a year old, maybe about 100 charges, doing ok
x2 950 - just died suddenly, about 50 charges , lit up button no power

spinner 650 - came apart, top piece disconnected. Probably got 50 charges
spinner 1300 - lasted about 10 months - still works, but dies very quickly, maybe 2mls worth, maybe 80 charges
spinner 1300 - lasted about 8 months - still works but dies quickly, maybe 3mls, about 50 charges.

Using the dual coils, I expect to get about 5mls of vaping before a recharge. I still have 1 spinner that is going strong, much newer.

I am using the volt chargers only, and number of charges are highly approximate. Do my results sound reasonable?

Also, I am going to have to buy more batteries soon. I am struggling to decide spinner or x2. The decision is totally based on quality, and how long I think it will last. I like that the spinner charges much faster, but since the x2 is less complex should be more durable. Any advice?

I have found that there isn't anywhere close to as much action on this forum as there used to be.

I have learned more about ohms, volts and vv in the past week than I ever knew and after literally hundreds of forum posts and Youtube videos, it took a chubby red neck's video to actually explain it in a way that I really understood everything. Not sure that I still really do but here is a shot at answering your question.

I have only bought 950s but have two autos that died, likely because I kept them charged and quit vaping for a while. Two manuals than the coating came off of one but both of those still work and I bought them about a year ago. I only use them occasionally anymore because once I moved to the Spinner, I quit using the others as primaries. My first Spinner, I bought when they came out a while ago and it still runs strong. I bought a new one about a month ago and haven't had an issue with that either.

However, when using dual coil; they don't last as long as they used to. I keep it somewhere around 4-4.2 most of the time and the wattage therefore is higher than the fixed X2 (which I believe is 3.8) but my fixed eGo is 3.3. I bought a VV/VW battery and with a dual coil topper for that, the battery drains much quicker than the single coil model of the identical product.

I don't think I would ever buy another X2 just as I would likely never buy another auto (and I am sure that I am eating previous words on that)

Battery longevity does vary. I treat my X2s like glass. Even so, the best I've gotten is about a year, at which point the charging port came loose and started to float. Since battery life was so poor at that point, I wasn't exactly surprised or upset.

I have a fairly complex algorithm for use.

* My oldest battery stays at the computer as a passthrough (it's plugged into a separate USB charger to avoid potentially damaging the computer in case of failure). Even so, battery life is fairly poor and I do have to move to a second one through the day when I drain the first (I'm a very heavy vaper). I put a blue nail polish ring on the bottom of the wrap to mark it as "computer use only."

* My second oldest is my go-to battery when out and about. I put a single stroke of blue nail polish on the bottom wrap to remind me of this--which is easy to turn into the ring when this battery demotes to computer only.

* My newest battery is a secondary go-to. It's unmarked.

Rotation speed varies, but I expect to down-grade a battery every three to four months or so, usually because my passthrough computer battery really starts to die. Since constant charging is a battery killer, that's unsurprising.

I tend to agree that the X2 should be less complex and, hence, less likely to break.

Lately, quality of the X2 (I don't have any Spinners so can't comment) seems to be all over the place. I'd rather pay a few dollars more for a consistently high-quality battery, but presently can't find any other options I like. I prefer automatic passthroughs, and most of my bases are 808.

Thanks for the feedback guys...
More or less consistent with my results.

I know the vaping world will likely change with gov't meddling and taxation. The future is very uncertain. In addition to stocking up on juice ingredients, I was tempted to stock up on batteries and coils [2 - 3] years worth. However, given the uncertainty of HW, I probably will try not to think about it, and just stay stocked for the near future.

I only use SI HW, keeps it simple. Overall, happy with their stuff... only wish they would do a full on mod. I like the idea of just replacing the battery itself.

Storing batteries for a year or more could be tricky. It is one of the benefits to using a device that takes external batteries since they are built for other purposes and just happen to work in PVs; hence, will still be available. Retailers likely rotate their stock on don't keep anything for longer than a year.

Even juice, I tried to use juice with no date and once I did some math; realized it was over a year old and it was no bueno

An absolutely flawlessly stored lithium (stored at 3.7 volts in a cool location) would be just fine after a year, but fully charged ones die a lot faster. It's not very convenient to store lots of batteries, and results are at best spotty.

I hear you on that! If they could bang together an X2-threaded automatic mod, including the outer skirt so I can use my Kangers, that took 18650 batteries I'd buy that sucker faster than you can say "Add to Cart." Autos are unheard of in the mod world and a lot of us actually do like them.

I don't even need much fancy technology, just give me a voltage selector if you feel you must. :)
