I really like this mod but it keeps showing my batteries at low power when they are still at 3.7 volts. All my other mods there is still a ton of life after this point. The mod says it's not supposed to give low battery alarm until battery is at 3.3 volts.

So now I have to carry around like 3 batteries just to get through the day.

This mod is very nice sized and quiet operating so it's very discrete. But the batteries last so little time that it makes it pretty impractical.

I've had this mod for awhile and originally thought it was just hard on batteries until a few weeks ago I measured what the voltage was of the batteries after it says the battery is low. I've tried this on several batteries and it gets to the same point on each battery. I also use these batteries in several other mods and at 3.7 volts there is still plenty of life left.

Anyone else have this issue? Is it just a bad mod?

I have tried a couple different types of coils. M2 and Baby-x. I don't recall the M2 resistance but the Baby-x's are .15ohms. The M2's would be somewhere close to that as well.

The batteries are 18650's 3000mAh 35A 3.7V.

I've used these batteries in other mods with the same coils and when fully discharged they are down to about 3V. Which means I'm getting more than twice the energy out of the batteries when using different mods before they are considered "dead". When fully charged they come in at 4.2v

This tells us only one thing, you are using rewrap batteries with exaggerated stats. They could have anything under the wrap, and unless you can say what brand and model they are, there is no good way to know.

There is no 18650 that actually has more than a 30a cdr, and even the ones that have 30a dont have that high of mah.

Also the batteries are efest. I have 4 of them that I bought at varying dates. None of them have reduced capacity in any other mod.

Battery sag.
IMO, you would benefit from a fresh, true 20-25amp battery.
Please purchase quality, branded batteries from a reliable vendor. (not ebay/amazon)
LG, Sony, Samsung- I use NKON | eu.nkon.nl in the EU.

Much more information: https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/threads/which-battery-can-i-get.
This post in particular: which battery can i get?

The batteries may have a resting voltage of 3.7v, but under load they will sag below that then slowly creep back up.
How much they sag under load will be down to how hard you are hitting them, and the quality and condition of the batteries themselves. Ergo don't hit them so hard, or get some better 20 amp batteries.

Efest are a scumbag rewrapper with a known track record guilty of putting false specifications on low quality cells. They are also known to bait-and-switch initially one cell, then later a lower performing cell under their stupid purple wrappers.
I defecate from altitude upon them.

I recommend the Samsung 30Q or the LG HG2 both excellent 20 amp 3000 mAh batteries.

Some electronic mod's chip set are more battery efficient than others. Also, different chips have a higher or lower low voltage cutoff. Either can affect battery life.

You could also use some better batteries than Efests.

Just a heads up you posted in the wrong place bud, the stick v8 aint a mech mod :p

Though imo it's either bad mod or just how it functions, then again never was a big fan of smok.

Oh sorry, I guess I don't really know what a mech mod is. It'll not happen again, thank you.

To the other replies about battery quality. I'll order some more reputable batteries next time, these were just the ones my vape shop carried. But on that, it's just odd to me how they work perfectly fine with my other 3 mods but not this one.

Are your other mods also single battery mods? Are you running them at about the same wattage? (For us to figure out your wattage we would need to know the coil resistance of the coil you are using in the priv, but likely it will be around 50-60w if you are using smok coils since most ohm out kind of low)

Good points about the number of batteries the mods use and about wattage settings, but is the SMOK Priv V8 a regulated mod or mechanical?

If a regulated mod, coil resistance would be essentially irrelevant.

It's an unregulated mod w/ protections basically. No adjustments.

Two other mods I use are the Alien and an Asmodus minikin, both are regulated and 2 battery type. I also use a Smok stick V8 which is unregulated and easily gets me through the day on a charge but it has an internal battery so it's not really relevant.

A dual battery mod is going to perform better than a single battery. The single battery is going to have much more stress put on the battery and shut down quicker since it has less overall power avaliable for the mod to draw from. You can't really fairly compare the two. The single battery mod will always die quicker when put under the same stress as a dual battery mod.

Oh and the priv V8, at this time I currently have a Smok baby x4 in it, .15 ohms and has a range between 30 - 70 w, best 45 - 60w. Being this mod is unregulated I don't really know range the mod runs at throughout the battery life cycle.
It will be drawing the full 60w that the mod will offer when using that coil.

Well maybe I'll try ordering some better brand batteries. If that doesn't work then I guess it is what it is.

I appreciate all the replies guys.

Ps. Anyone know a good place to find quality batteries?

Edit: I'm sorry I didn't read the bottom of the earlier reply that specifically gives me a million good options. My bad.
