I see a lot of comments on how short the battery life is, but generally the comments come from those who have had the experience to be able to cross-reference. My question revolves more around an absolute. Please excuse the backstory to set up my question:

I just purchased a 510 w/ the 2 batteries and 2 attys that should arrive today. This is a smoking replacement purchase. My question revolves around whether the 2 batteries will be sufficient for a smoking replacement. Here's what I would need the 2 batteries to last for:

1/2 hour ride to work
15 minute break x 3 (closer to 10 minutes by the time I get outside)
1/2 hour ride home from work.

Total time needed: 1 hour, 45 minutes.

Is this doable with 2 batteries? In a pinch, I did purchase the cigarette lighter attachment so I can charge one in the car while I'm at work for the ride home. Am I okay on batteries?

Side note: This is car time and time in public, so I don't want to be dripping. How many carts would I need to travel with to work for this scenario?

Based on the vaping times that you listed, two charged batteries should suffice. Personally, I'd pick up a PCC just for the security.

Off the top of my head I'd say that you'll probably get by with three carts. Four max.

On the other hand, if you have a cart with one of the better mods (like the ADP/ADM), one full cart would probably do it. Two on the outside.

    Somewhere between here and there
It is hard to say. It all depends on how many hits you take and how long they are. I would recommend getting a usb car adapter and a usb passthrough. This will take care of your drive time and you don't have to worry about using up your batts in the car. Most usb passthroughs are fairly inexpensive so you won't have to invest alot more up front.

Thanks for the input all. I had absorbed enough info to know to bring an extra atty just in case. I'm always the one who tells people that they don't want me to quit smoking because I'm enough of an a** when I am smoking, you don't want to see me w/o my nicotine fix! I could easily see an atty failure without a backup causing a maintenance hazard to both my computer and the neighboring office window.

Whenever I see that someone has bought yet another car charger for whatever device, it kinda stings. Instead of buying a car charger for your phone, ipod, E-NI, and whatever other future chargers you might have to buy; get a good ole power inverter and you'll never buy another car adapter in your life.

I especially like the Black & Deckar 100 or 110w models. They come with a standard/mains outlet and a usb outlet. Best thing of all is the lifetime warranty! Check em out here.

Frost, I do have an inverter, but it's hardwired into the electrical system as it's for uses that would fry the fuse on the ciggy outlet. The only thing I charge in the car will be these e-cig bats, so the $5 for the adapter was more reasonable than the cost of another inverter. That's a great idea, though, for the electronics warriors on the road, though!

Angjen, if I was going to break stuff over here, it'd be broken to where everyone would get to go home for the day. ;)
