Battery question ??

why with 3 double A batteries does the voltage drop from almost 5 volts to a tiny bit over 3 when under a load? are there any better batteries i could use without rewiring?
i mean even my little stock 901 battery hits better than them :\

if they're rechargeable then they're probably 1.2v batteries or 3.6 for all 3. regular AAs would be 1.5 but with a load that might drop some. could also be the batteries are old.

they are just regular old batteries not rechargable but i dont think they are dead they are brand new besides one that was still 1.5 volts

Stock batts dont push enough amps I use 14500 3.6v 900mah protected. Unprotected batts will explode if you get a short!!!!!

ok so i got 3 1.2 volt rechargable batteries that are 2000 mah and it seems to be working waay better

That's pretty much what I'm using and they're great with 901; Plenty of power and they last ages.

considering most units come with a single 280mAh i'd say you'll get 10-20 times as much use before recharging

Yeah, I can go 3-5 days on a set of 2600mah.

charged them today vapor started to decrease a little but my green light hadnt came on yet it was still making quite a bit more than stock battery but eh also wanted to see how long they took to charge... took 6 hours lol
