Carry spares in a plastic battery case.
All reputable battery vendors sell them a few include them for free with the purchase of 2 cells.
Most B&M's sell them too.

A battery case. Your local VAPE shop or here. Never ever carry loose batteries. They can explode if the touch something metal.

Question about this also, I carry my mod in my pockets and I try to keep my keys in a separate pocket just to keep things organized a bit. Is it safe to carry my keys in the same pocket as my mod? Incase I get distracted and put them in the same pocket? Thank you.
you can either carry your battery in a
1. plastic case (usually fits 2 18650s)
2. silicone sleeve (fits a single 18650)
As for carrying keys, coins, etc. IMO if its a regulated device (a box mod with a screen and a chip regulating the voltage, etc) it should be OK assuming the battery door doesn't fail resulting in the battery falling out in your pocket somehow.
But I wouldn't do it b/c you run the risk of scratching up your mod and tank

What is that which popped up??? It looks like something from an Alien movie.
As for keys and mods, just as with my phone, I keep them in separate pockets as I don't like dinging my stuff up if possible.
But that backpack belongs in a Stephen King book.
That's the anode and/or cathode inside the battery. They start with a sheet of copper and a sheet of zinc. These are given a special coating, then sandwiched together and rolled up into a tube shape. This tube is then inserted into the metal can of the battery, with one end of the battery soldered to the copper sheet and the other end soldered to the zinc. What you see in the image, are these rolled sheets having been shot out of the can, like a Chinese yo-yo.
