I have several dual 18650 mods and am in the habit of alternating the married batteries each time they are charged. I haven't checked in a while, but assume that is still recommended.

I just got my first quad 18650 mod, the smok GX2/4 along with a new set of 4 Samsung 30Q batteries to marry up for use in quad configuration. Assuming alternating battery position is a good idea in dual battery mods and therefore also a good idea in quad battery mods, is there any benefit to having a set pattern of charging/placement in mod or is a random rotation (just mix 'em up) sufficient?

Thanks in advance for any help, tips, and/or suggestions.

There was never a need to rotate batteries if they are externally charged (which balances them).
If you have a poorly designed or malfunctioning mod, and charge via USB, then rotating can help.

Just use them randomly and you're fine. :)
