You'll probably be able to tell by the question but, I'm new to vaping. I bought a Kanger Evod Pro to start with and a battery to go with it. The battery is an 18650 3.7v 2500mah (and I think it's Samsung). The coils I'm using are .5 ohm. Anyway, I started reading about batteries blowing up in people's faces and I started to get worried... so am I safe?
Thanks!

Well I'm new as well and had the same concerns. I'm sure a lot of people do since the Galaxy Note 7 incidents. I would say that as long as you buy high quality batteries you should be fine. And I understand your concerns since the batteries you bought are Samsung...lol

Truth is that anything with a battery can possibly explode if it is used incorrectly.

Most batteries that blow up do that because of a short or radical coil resistance with cheap (read Fake) batteries. There are lots of re-wrapped batteries around that aren't what the wrapper says they are.

.5 ohms isn't a radical coil resistance. Your Kanger Evod will control the voltage and current and keep you from going over limits. The caveat here is that the Evod doesn't know what kind of battery is in your mod. So, use a brand name battery with a 20A CDR (constant discharge rating) value. Samsung 25R, Sony VTC4 or VTC5, or LG HG2 will be fine.
