Remove those safety tabs before putting them in a charger or mod. They are there only for transport use during mail delivery to prevent the contacts from coming into contact with anything metalic which could cause the battery to short circuit and explode.

Other battery suppliers use plastic battery cases, plastic bags, or plastic bubble wrap for the same purpose.

Those are welded on tabs for battery packs. The batteries you purchased are really not the correct ones for your device. These are interconnects for multiple batteries. Can I ask where you bought such a thing?
If you even can get the welds to break, they will leave a rough jagged metal bump behind. I cannot advise you to grind that off, as it would not be a safe procedure.

Good eye, @ilporcupine :thumb: YOU DA MAN!! My appologies for the bad advice above. At first glance I assumed those were plastic tabs or tape; I didn't realize they were welded onto the battery.

@Frat He's correct. Your batteries appear to have been harvested from a battery pack. Removing those tabs could damage the batteries if they are not easily removed. Return the batteries and order from a trusted supplier.

Hey, B Looks like we responded at the same time. Have you seen this before? That looks like an interconnect welded on the positive terminal. And hanging over the can.

What amp rate are the rated for. My guess is they are not suitable for mist vaping.
Judging from the writing on the OP's second pic, it "appears" to be a Samsung 25R 18650 25A battery. If true, it would be suitable for most vaping applications.

However, I'm not convinced that Gear Best is a trusted supplier for authentic brand name batteries.

If you google for tabbed 25R samsung, there are some for sale. I don't think Samsung makes 'em that way, they are usually a 3rd party item from a battery pack shop in China. I have purchased little coin cells with attached tabs for 'keep-alive' batteries. Motherboard BIOS/clock batteries. Mooch will know more.

That's why you just have to find a dealer you trust. Not a good place to bargain hunt, as if you get it wrong, there are real bad consequences. Mine were $4.50 each, I think, at IMR. Now, I did have to pay for shipping, but I am fairly sure if they are not as advertised, I can reach someone who will make good on them.
Looking at Gearbest, they were 18.00 for 4 pcs, and are likely surplus. Worth the risk?

The only difference in the writing on the battery is that instead of saying sdi it says sdiem, what does it means ?

I know that the top line identifies the chemisty, size, and model. "INR" is the chemistry. "18650" is the size and shape of the battery (18mm diameter, 65 mm length, round). "25R" is the model.

"Samsung" identifies the manufacturer. The other information...I don't have a clue. Could be serial numbers or other identification of what factory the battery originated from.
