Battery stuck on

I have a joyetec battery(Joyetech eGo-C Upgrade Battery) That won't shut off. the button isnt depressed because I hear it clicking when I push it but the light stays on and if I connect an atty it fires right up and wont turn off, prolly ruined the one that was connected when trouble started, I am using a vision 2.0 dual coil atty(Vision 2.0 Clearomizer) this one in the pic says 2.4 ohms but the one I have is 1.8.
Did I ruin this battery with the atty or is this a fluke? I have had this battery since October of last year and was using a single coil atty on it until recently.
Any suggestions?

Note: top smells like burnt electronics

Battery might be busted. I'm sure somebody else might have some better info. Any way that you can open up the battery compartment or the area around the button to see if something on the internal side is depressed or stuck at all?

I already took it apart and disconnected the battery, didn't want one just sitting there cooking off. So I opened it and clipped both wires, the battery wasn't hot and smells fine but the board smells burnt. Oh well parts for modding I guess.
