Batts for Janty USB Passtrough.

Anyone know 1) what the average lifespan of these batterys are and if they need initial charging and 2) should it be unplugged when not in use ?

It shouldnt need any initial charge, it's a lithium cell so it has no memory effect and needs no conditioning. Those who talk about initial charging are confusing the chemistry with old nickel cells.

As the battery remains pretty much fully charged all the time, it will suffer internal corrosion faster than a battery you cycle. This is just a shortcoming of lithium cells and why they should not be stored for long periods with a full charge. Notice how ecigs ship part charged? This is why and nearly all manufacturers selling lithium cell powered products ship them this way. I would expect 4-12 months life depending on the manufacturing quality. I cant be more specific as I have only had my kissbox a few months I am afraid. Maybe somebody who had one die can comment.

You will be fine leaving it plugged in between vapes while sat at your PC, but I wouldnt leave it unnatended (like any battery on a charger).

I bought the passthrough from iVapour about a month ago and i saw on the site he has spare Batts. Was wondering whether to buy a couple.
Yes i was forgetting that it's charging when plugged in.

I have had my Janty pass-through for about two months and the battery is just fine. If you want a backup, order a similar battery from Deal Extreme.
