Yeeeessss.... as a first look, it seems OK, until you get more in-depth. I thought the GGTS was tight for battery fit until this came along - I have no other 18650s that will fit it. None. And I've got a few! Atomisers? Yeah - a fair few 801s I have will fit very nicely, and work OK - just like an 801, in fact. That siad, I've got one or two with a slightly longer than normal "skirt" below the thread that won't make contact. But then, that's what the staple mod was for all those months back - so, some 801 will work, others won't. I seem to recall the same of the Janty Stick V3. Not saying it's good, but it's not proprietary. The wicking you mention is typical 801 - I actually like the positive snap fit the carts show, but you do have to know 801s to get the best out of them. For me, probably too much faff, and often non-optional faff, at that.

The switch unit and sealing, frankly, are a pain. I don't see a need for it being the way it is. The threads are very fine - that, in itself, is not a major problem, but it just needs a small flaw to screw them up altogether. Coarser threads for big hefty hands are probably a good thing. The LED is, I think, sitting on the 801 PCB that is sat inside the switch, and just happens to be viewable through what are obviously breather holes.

The switch itself has way too short a travel, as I said - it's a cert for accidental firing in a pocket, handbag, wherever.

Still, if Bauway pick up on the criticisms and address them, fair enough, they may have a winner, but it's pretty much a complete redesign (wider, longer, fully sealed, different threads, different switch, different topography on the switch unit).

Worth a look, I'll use it till it dies, and that'll be that, I think.

Great review. I got two of these in the mail today. One seems fine (I'm waiting for the batteries to charge), the other has a defective spring in the bottom. It's too compressed, so the battery doesn't make contact with the switch. I suppose it's an easy fix with some needle nose pliers, but still.... not a good start.

One question: Are these the same voltage as the eGo or are they true 3.7v devices?

Also, if anyone finds protected batteries that fit in here I'd love to know what those are. My TF 18650 2400mah batts are too wide like in the video.

I've been using this for the last 5 days. Here's my take on it:

1) The batteries last me 7 hours. I didn't think I was that much of a chain vaper. After switching the batteries to UltraFire 3000mahs, they last a good 24 hours.

2) The coil can easily get squashed and needs to be stretched to support the battery. I'm assuming the coil wire isn't thick enough to support the weight of the battery and compresses after a few battery changes.

3) The connector popped off the top of the unit. It's press fit into place and slides out easily if too much force is applied. And I'm talking about normal force of putting a carto or atty on and off.

4) The bottom is is starting to come apart also. I'm assuming it's press fit.

5) When it works, it works. I use a 510 cartomizer so I have no opinion about the supplied atomizer. I like that it has a cut off around 7 seconds.

6) I don't use the cone. I don't mind the way it looks. Feels good in the hand.

7) Unless you find this for less than $30 and are planning on modding it or repairing its flaws, there is absolutely no reason to purchase this. It will fall apart. The supplied batteries are a bad joke. This PV is a failure.
