So I can't stress enough how much I love my XXIX. Great mech, killer performance. That being said, I do have one major issue...

It WILL fire in my pocket. I have burned out fresh builds, burnt my hands/fingers while taking it out of my pocket, melted the spring in the switch and even fried out a KFL+ insulator. I have upgraded the switch from the stock spring to magnets but I still have this problem.

Any other XXIX/Surfrider owners having this same issue? Anyone find a possible fix? Or shouldI just stop carrying it in my pocket lol...

Chipotle.
I'm not sure how the switch on your XXIX is set up but with my Surfrider I can manually turn the button clockwise with my fingertip until it is completely tight and cannot fire due to having no travel. Another thing you can do is pair it with an atomizer that has the shortest 510 connection so that the button is recessed as much as possible when adjusted for no rattle.

I pocket both of my 22mm recessed button mods with no problem using these:

Thanks Froth, I'm going to give that a shot. As far as I know, both the XXIX and SR have the exact same switch, just different materials.

Also, I'm eyeing that SMPL for my next buy! lol :toast:

Inswva- That. Is. Genius.

They fit perfectly and won't come off until you take them off. I also use them to protect the 510 pins on my 22mm attys when travelling with them. The 1" deep caps will cover the air holes of most drippers and keep them from leaking as well as protecting the 510 when rattling around in my laptop bag.

Finding these things was perhaps my one lucid moment in years, lol.

The SMPL is a fantastic mod, they sell out really fast every time they're up so keep that eye sharp! I should also mention that as I re-read your first post I noticed you have a spring in your XXIX switch, I'm using magnets so your results may vary.

Yeah, I bought mine a while back. The sn is in the lower hundreds so it had a spring and a different hybrid connector. After the first incident with the pocket fire my spring melted so I upgraded to magnets (which I had planned on doing anyway) figured I'd upgrade the connector too so I bought the v2 from the bcv site.

Haven't had any issues since I took Froth's advice, still going to order some of those caps though. Just in case...

Thanks all!:toast:
