Isn't that interesting; in Indiana, it already looks like it's fully autumn; not so much in WV. It'll be at least a month till any fall colors show around here.

It's lighting. And photo ops.

WV is showing more than IN right now. Methinks likely due to elevation.

It's weird here; the crepe myrtles have already started shedding their leaves, so they're all over the driveway, but the regular hardwoods haven't; in fact everything is amazingly green, after all that rain (and more today!). The "traditional date of first frost" around here is Oct 25, and the hardwoods won't start doing much of anything till after that.

Wow, leaves are turning bright colors in the hills of PA!

I did 600 miles today northbound. It was still in the lower 80s in NE FL, but here in SW VA, it's barely 50F. Traffic on I95 NB approaching I26 was very light due to the continued closure of I95 between I26 and I20. I was expecting a nightmare on I26, but traffic there was also relatively light. Weather sucked between Columbia and Statesville, and it was dark by the time we hit the hills in VA, so I can't say what the leaves look like here.

Yeah I was totally appalled to see yet more rain over SC; we got just the outlying fringe of that huge system, light rain during quite a bit of today, but it's past now, and at midnight, the temp is 60 degrees; should be 73 and Mostly Sunny tomorrow, yay! Gotta plant something for my mom -- we gave her a beautiful lavender clematis for mother's day, but told her she had to keep it alive in the pot till fall, when perennials are planted down here. Somehow she managed it! :D

Drove about 50 miles round trip through Central Mass to pick up an antique bed frame tonight.
I hoped it would fit inside my HHR. It didn't. Lucky I have the roof rack.
3 straps & an Indian blanket got it back without a single rub to the frame or the car.
Hills, woods, swamps & moose crossing signs.
38F going through Hubbardston and it's 41F here now in Clinton.
Brrrr, here we go again.

Check out how squiggly this route is.

Don't forget to bring some home with you...:nun:
Mom doesn't appear to be the type to let him walk out of the house without a goodie bag to take home. The question is really whether the bag makes it home uneaten. If it doesn't, lock his .... out of the house and sic the kids on him. :sneaky:

Drove another 450 miles today. Every time I make this trip, I wonder how anyone is able do this for a living, 11 hours a day, 6 days a week.

Beck will probably recognize this:

Anyone care to guess what the speed limit is on this road? Yep, 70 mph. So the sign basically says, if you're not doing AT LEAST the speed limit, stay in the right hand lane. :D

Truck centipedes always amuse me:

Oh, and here's my favorite water tower:

It happens to mark the exit with some of the least expensive diesel on the east coast:

Since I pay for fuel out of my own pocket, I almost always stop there. :w00t:

I know that hill all too well. It wasn't so colorful when I went down it about a week ago.

The signs suggesting you need to do at least the speed limit or move to the far right aren't just limited to 70 mph zones, either.

But I'm always doing as close to my trucks speed limit as feasible anyway. [emoji38]

ME; "But officer, the speed limit in MY truck IS 70."

If you could get that on video we would be most grateful. :)

You call that centipeding? Very cool term. Exactly what it looks like. Bravo for getting a great shot of the water tower in there. It really does look like a basket of apples.
