I used to vape a lot about a year ago. Then went back analogs... Anyway I'm looking at getting back into vaping and i'm curious about advancements in technology since i've been away. I used the screwdriver with 901(?) attys. I'm looking for a new kit now. I did like the screwdriver for the size and battery switch out but wasnt really thrilled with the atty/cart combo. It seemed to burn through juice pretty quick so i would have to be refilling constantly. Also the occasional overfill and juice in the mouth.

Just curious what you guys think is "the ...." now? I dont mind spending a couple dollars to get something good. I hear a lot about the eGo-tank. eh?

People love variable voltage. The big dogs in that category are the Darwin and the Provari. (I'd post links but I don't know where they're sold).

Notcigs Notcigs is now taking orders for the buzz pro (VV mod).

Uhm, I dunno what else to tell you.

For no fuss, look at a bottom feeder like the Reo and a'lil (sp).

edit: in the meantime, if you don't like 901's, you can get an adapter to whichever you like and try other atty's/ carto's. Such as a Cisco 510/ 306 LR atty.

Right now the most popular threads are 510 and 808-D1, mods are progressing into V2 and V3 models, even your screwdriver: SparkPlug for smokers | SparkPlug for Smokers… The Best Smoking Alternative, Bar NONE!

Carts have lost favor in response to the number of tanks and filler-less cartos available. The ego tanks are reportedly finiky, although some swear by them. I like the CE2 clearomizers and the smoketech dual coil cartos the best. There's also G4 cartos, 510 tank models, Vortex, (filler-less cartos) and a wide range of tanks based on the MAP tanks, Storm tanks, and Gummy Tanks.

VV (Variable Voltage) mods and bottomfeeders are taking the community by storm !

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...vv-army-tank-variable-volt-bottom-feeder.html

Dual Coil Cartomizers rated at 1.5 ohms that perform perfectly at 5-6v are making half the mods out there with amp cutoff null and void. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/cartomizers/177866-smoktech-dual-coil-cartomizers.html

Capacity is going through the roof with 3.5 ml Dual Coil cartos out there, and tanks now that will run any carto.

Lots of mods collecting Dust ! lol

thanks for all the advise. Seems like i need to find a battery mod and use the dual coil cartomizers. Those cartomizers are pretty cheap too. What does everyone recommend for the battery portion. I'm looking for something like my screwdriver. Flashlight style (no box mod), able to use multiple styles of batteries. Would be great to have replacement parts available as well. I guess right now i'm looking for something pre built.... I'm a smoker...I want instant gratification. LOL. Im still not sure if i want to go 3volt or 5/6v. The buzz pro looks pretty nice as well as the prodigy. What else do you guys recommend!

13 of 13 dual 1.6ohm coils worked perfect; they require a formidable PV due to power usage. Dense clean quality vapor at 3.7volts. I understand the sweet spot is 4 to 5 volts. Coils split work load so they take more abuse before burning carto.

3 of 5 CE2-X worked perfect out of the box. After tweeking, all 5 worked perfect. Order extra tubes because they crack. Produces massive vapor. Not power or juice hogs. Bugs almost worked out.

My favorite PV is epipe.

Since you went back to smoking using a 3.7 volt PV, I would recommend stepping up to a good 5 volt or variable volt PV. The advantages in throat hit, consistency and battery life are significant. I would recommend these two that are well supported on ECF:

5 volt GLV2 or 3: Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid - Great Lakes Vapor

Variable Volt Darwin: Nhaler

Review of the Darwin: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ressions-newest-pre-production-prototype.html

I'm a heavy vaper and I get 21+ hours on a charge with the Darwin. Never have to carry extra batteries any longer. Plus it works with any atty or carto.

Note: the Screwdriver was my 2nd PV and got me off the analogs, so I do know how it vapes. It was/is a big improvement over the analog size devices. But it can't compare to the two that I mentioned above.

You might want to grab a 510 adapter for your SD and give the clearomizers (atomizer with clear tube so you can see the juice. no "filler" either to ruin the flavor) a try. The "sleeve" on them is a bit on the fragile side, but they're cheap, and word is, they're coming out with a version that has a more "robust" sleeve (the tube part).

Update: I ended up making an order with madvapes.com. They are based about 2 hours away from me so i got the package the next day. WOOT! I ordered an E-power, some dual coil cartomizers, fluids, and so on. My first mistake was that I only ordered 1 drip tip. I thought the carts would come with them. Guess not. No big deal, I'll be making a second order soon. The batteries came charged and its already hitting harder than my screwdriver. Not sure if its the batteries, dual coil cartomizers, or a combo of both. Anyway, I like it.

Couple questions about the new products. Do i remove and discard the rubber plug at the top of the carts? Also, when filling with fluid, I noticed the poly fill was not wicking completely and it started draining out the bottom. Is that normal or am I overfilling? Should i be worried about fluid leaking into the battery compartment?

Recently, I have been writing random messages in the comments section of anything I buy online. Some places play along, others dont. Madvapes played along beautifully. see pics below.

Congrats. But that pic is wrong. The squid's got 8 arms (tentacles). There's no way the bear (standing up no less) should be able to get a punch in. That's just wrong. I'm not buying from MV again...

:)

Squids have 10 arms, however, I'm familiar with that particular bear. She's a 3rd degree Tai Kwon Do blackbelt :) It's now okay to buy from Madvapes again :)

glad you got back into vaping. you should check out youtube on how to fill your cartos. i use the condem method and it works really well if you take your time. check out this video he does a good job of showing how to do it. ‪A PBusardo Tutorial : Filling Boge 510 Cartomizers‬‏ - YouTube.

im you havent you should really try the Boge LR cartos. thats what i use 90% of the time with a 3.7v device.

Good video. I always forget about youtube when i need to learn something and i'm always on youtube when i have nothing to do...

I've been puffin away on the e-power all last night. Havent change the battery yet and only 1 small topoff. I'm having so much better of an experience than i did way back when. The older units seem to need a lot more maintenance. Plus i love how cheap the cartomizers are. If they start to go bad or develop and bad taste, I'll just chuck em. I havent got any liquid in my mouth yet from drags either. I need to give it more time for a better review.

Thanks for all the help guys. I'll post up some more pics when i make my second order!
