THe coil heads in them can be replaced on many of the newer ones (I know you can on the protank series). SO you don't throw the whole thing out you just unscrew the old coil and screw in a new one. You will want to have some extra heads on hand.

Also keep your old protank heads. They are super easy to rebuild. Even if you don't want to muck with it now. Just stick them in a baggie as spare parts or rebuilding mats later on. If you never decide to rebuild there are people here on ECF who will be happy to take them off your hands.

Hi everyone,
It's been a couple of years now I think. Basically, the story went that I'd quit smoking analog cigs in 2004 and was smoke free for 5 years. Several years ago on a snowed-in stressful weekend in PA with my best friend (who is a heavy smoker), I lit up with her and came home from that weekend sneaking smokes here and there. Some months later I discovered vaping and I got started with a 510 and then later moved on to an eGo. I was a refilling carts and dripping type of girl and I enjoyed vaping quite a bit! Now comes the bad part *hangs her head* I went back to smoking analogs (with the same friend!) and have been smoking them exclusively for about another 2.5 years now. I've hit the point where I'm discusted, sick of the smell, the taste, freezing my ... off outside in this never-ending winter we're having and just generally beginning to get terrified of the thoughts of what this is doing to my body (family history of lung cancer from smoking, but what am I doing?! smoking!). It's become a sense of urgency to me over the last weekish to get back to vaping and get off these analogs!
So, I wander over to my old favorite website supplier and find that there is all this new stuff! I'm completely overwhemed and unsure of where to begin, I don't know a thing about "tanks" and "coils" and all these fancy things... I was hoping you all might be able to point me toward something. On a bad day I'm smoking 3/4 of a pack of ciggarettes, so I'm not a light smoker. Moderate? So something that's comfortable for all day use would be great, I'm not attracted to any of the really over the top, "look at me!" huge models and I have no idea the benefits of various voltage and all that.
I like the idea of a passthru that I can use at my computer (where I spend a lot of time) but also something that can be taken out. This iTaste box thing looks cool (the one that can charge other devices off itself?) but I don't know... The more I look, the more youtube vids I watch, the more I back peddle and just start looking at the 510's again. I want to try something new but I'm overwhelmed! Can someone reccomend something simple or explain to me how these new things work?
I appreciate it so much. In the meantime, I went to my gas station and bought a disposable Blu menthol... I'm thinking these are going to die out pretty quick but it was enough for now to end the "panic" in my head. Here's hoping it doesn't give me a sore throat as I'm not sure what the juice is made with and I was a VG juice girl, PG gives me a sore throat :(
Thanks so much for your time and I look forward to poking around the forum again!

BTW there's quite a crew of us here doing what we've done...recently jumped back on the wagon. Early last fall I went thru this "omg look at all this cool equipment around now but WHAT do I buy first' thing. Things have changed for the better from '09!! Enjoy!!

Everything came in yesterday and I'm pretty well in love with my MVP and my protanks :D I had an issue last night with one of the protanks leaking but I found out this morning that it was the colored replacement glass for the tank that I put on it that just is off enough that it was preventing a tight seal and causing some flooding. It's almost like it's too wide of something on one end and I have to really shove it on there... Also one of my husbands isn't coming apart right, the connector bottom comes off, but the silver part at the base of the glass will not come off the glass. I'm thinking it might be another glass tank issue with it being a tight fit and really shoved on there but it's not leaking. I've had some fun playing with the variable voltage settings. I've got NO idea what the difference is between VV and VW, so I've just been messing with the voltage until I can find out what the difference is.

Question on taste... I don't remember this last time but it's been so long... Is it normal to really only taste the flavor of the juice on the exhale?
Husband and I had fun playing with flavors last night, I've currently got Menthol in one protank and Blue Moo from MBV in the other and it's so delish. Just like having a blueberry muffin with my morning coffee this morning! I was skepitcal of that one because it smelled really"cakey" and I'm often not one to like cake batter type scents but the taste is great and husband likes it too. But, I'm getting like very little to no flavor on inhale, only exhale? LIke I said, I can't remember if it was that way for me before.
Also got a Black Clove from MBV which is very mild in flavor and doesn't taste a thing like I thought it would, tastes like rootbeer, I gave that one to my hubby lol
Can someone tell me about changing flavors in tanks? Is it like attys where with some storng juices you needed to devote one atty just for that flavor? I noticed when we were taste testing last night that this blue moo completely overtook my 510 atty I was using for tasting and now no matter what you put in there all you taste is blueberry.

The only thing remotely concerning me about the MVP is the puff counter, I find myself looking at it and going "DAMN, that's a lot of puffs!" but I've never counted how many puffs I took off a normal cig.

I've not smoked a cig since about 6pm last night. Today will be my first official day. Cross your fingers! That's all for now, sorry if this post is all over the place!

Difference between vv and vw is voltage and ohms gets you wattage. Most sites seem to recommend about 8.5w as the highest setting before you start burning up your coil and wick. At 8w you can slap on what ever resistance atty you want and you should get a similar Vape. (more ohms means longer warmup time though...) some devices are better than others at calculating voltage with vw and I think mvp was just ok at doing this. Check out Pbusardo mvp2 review for more details on that. Google image search "vaping voltage" and you'll get some helpful charts for voltage/resistance/wattage.
Hope this helps!
