Been gone a long time, now I'm back

Hi everyone,
It's been many months since I logged in, so long in fact that I forgot my password...The world of vaping just seems to be getting even more exciting as time goes on. As a bio major I'm always interested in my health and I just read the Drexel University report on e-cig risk. Basically there isn't any :D ! I'm embarrassed to say that I went back to analogs for a bit. That's right, I relapsed. I smoked a lot of spirits, a lot of marbs, and a ton of cloves. Also had my share of cigars and pipe tobacco the past few months. A little while ago I gave my really nice variable voltage pv and rba to a buddy and now I'm kicking myself :( . Now I have to build my collection back up again. When I was last here I didn't know much about electronics. While I've been gone I've learned a lot and now I'm ready to build a pipe :vapor: . I'm gonna see how it goes, but if I like the outcome I'll probably buy more analog pipes and convert them to digital. The culprit for this build is my grandpa's old pipe. I'll let you know how it goes. In the mean time I'm using the Blu with cherry cartos. I know it's not much but I'm really loving how portable it is and how I can slip the pack in my pocket. The pipe will be nice when I'm sitting by a desk. Stay vaping everybody and keep fighting the good fight against the uninformed doofuses we call our government!

Welcome back! Glad you didn't forget about ECF completely! :)

Maybe just a word of wisdom from someone who's destroyed more things than I'd like to admit. Maybe give a build a shot on a cheapo pipe that you don't care about first? Instead of Pap's tried and true 'bacco puffer? Just something to think about?

Wish you best of luck and do share your build when you get it working? Or it ends up in utter failure or somewhere in between...I don't care. I just wanna see it.

Show us a pic of the pipe mod if you get it done.

And those Blu's... they get a lot of bad press but they got me to quit tobacco for the first 10 days until I could get something else. Looking back, I honestly don't know how I made it that long with those two tiny (and defective) batteries. But hey, without them I would not have found a way to quit I don't think. Had no idea this "vaping" thing was so big.

Thanks for the welcomes everyone. I'll be sure to share the pipe build as it goes. The way I see it there will only need to be three modifications made to the pipe with a drill press to get the mod I'm planning to work. Shouldn't be too big of a hassle and not too likely to destroy it. The pipe is not too expensive or hard to find either but it's good looking. Take it easy everyone :)

Being completely honest with you guys I have been an on and off smoker for three years but when I smoked I smoked heavily. I started at 17 and I'm 20 now. I want a long life but I'm not interested in quitting nicotine because it's such a pleasurable experience. Vaping is a great thing. The pipe is not an heirloom by any means, it's more of a closet find and worth about $20. No worries guys. The plan is that I'm gonna get down to the hobby lobby and get some casting resin. I'm gonna cast the electronics and orange leds inside of a tinted acrylic. I'm gonna make the mold myself, and basically make a little gadget that will be fairly easy to drop in the pipe and it will look like smoldering tobacco. Any suggestions on your favorite pipe liquids?
