Love this thing... the ability to have a consistent voltage, check the ohm's on your attie, and a LED screen for easy menu access is just a dream. I'm still on the same 18650 battery for 4 days now too o_O

anyway a few simple questions

1) is it safe to check the ohm of an attie right off the bat? as in no liquid inside, straight out the package? just asking because i notice the attie gets hot as it's checking

2) When people do a voltage check... there's the voltage straight from the battery, and then there's also checking the voltage with the atomizer screwed in

Now, let's say I set my Provari to 5v... will that be 5v straight from the battery? or is that 5v combined with the atomizer?

to steal a pic from another thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/198476-reo-5v.html#post3477648

would the 5v be similar to what's goin on the top pic or the bottom pic?

3) if i set the provari button to not light up when pressed, will it still blink when its running low on battery?

thanks

Hey nocturn,

1) If you simply wants to check if your atty is good or DOA before you ever add any juice to it, I would suggest using a DMM. Even a cheap one will do the trick. I'm not a big fan of firing up a brand new atty without priming it first plus I believe the ProVari will display one of the error codes if your atty is dry.

2) If you check the voltage on your ProVari without the atty screwed in, you will see the unloaded voltage which is the same as checking the battery with a DMM. Checking the voltage with the atty attached will give you the loaded voltage reading which is really what matters.

If you set your ProVari at 5V, you will get true 5V under load (the bottom picture).

3) No, it will not start flashing at 3.5V when the battery is getting low. It will start flashing at the same time the unit shuts down at 3.3V.

Hope this helps.

Edit: Sorry for the repeat, it seems that your questions were answered by others while I was typing...
