Been lurking...need help with my Penny Mod!

Hi fellow vapors.

Got a new copper Penny mod not working? I'm experienced so took it apart. Sometimes fires, sometimes not. Checked all the contacts but still cannot figure why unreliable. Anybody else having the same issues. Tried 5 different rda's and a couple of tanks. It's a mystery? Thank you for any suggestions.

Did you try adjusting the center pin on your Penny or on your RDA/RTA?

Hi, yes thanks for the reply.. The usual stuff, attach RDA, adjust center pin until flush, then take out battery rattle to make everything snug and in contact from top to bottom. At first I thought the bottom contact wasn't passing above the insulator but it does. Like I said everything appears to be making a complete circuit but obviously it doesn't. Also tried flat and nipple batteries. Just don't know how I can do anything else? Cheers.

I bet the wrapper on your battery is preventing the switch from making a good connection. Look on the bottom of your battery . Is it real thick around the edge or does it wrap too far over the bottom?

Or, when you're adjusting for battery rattle, you may have turned both adjustment screws and pulled the contact away from the atty. I had one that was stuck...I thought I was only turning the battery adjustment but the 510 was turning with it.

Thanks for the info. Battery(ies) all OK. Checked the depth to center pin. I think you have a good point, something stuck in top cap.
Loving the forum...you guys are great help. I really appreciate it. Thanks. This should be elemental science, freaking me out. I had the same problem with a Bagua Mod because I changed the throw of the switch. Still no joy?

Conductivity is checked using a resistance setting with battery removed from device.

I LOVE my Penny mod ! Hardest hitting mod I have, BUT it is VERY touchy. Sometimes I'll be vaping fine and set it down, pick it up a minute later and NOTHING !!

Have you ever had it working ?
With mine it's the screw that you adjust for rattle, it fits in the post pretty loose. So I adjust it to where I can see a little tiny gap between the top cap and mod, then snug it down, not with any force but a little pressure (if that makes sense ?)

I wish the contacts out of my Satin Brass King from Infinate would fit in there, huge copper contacts......that thing is SOOOOOO EASY !! They'd probably fit if I cut a little off the insulator, but I'm not going to mess with that set-up at all ! Might see if I can buy them somewhere ?

I wish I had a copper Illuminati. The fire button...best of all my mods. The Penny is very temperamental. I've now tried RDA's and tanks without sitting flush just to prove contact. Still nothing. I wonder if my contacts are actually made from copper. Looks awesome, pity it doesn't work! Thanks dude.
