Hey Metafizik, Welcome to ECF....I just left your neck of the woods, went to eat lunch at Bill's!!!

Anyways, there is lots of great info here and lots of helpful people....does it work, well, I started in Jan this year, got my sister to start up in March after 30 years, 2 packs a day, so yea, it works. (Also got another teacher here in Wayne Co to quit and a Dr. down in GA to quit so yea, track record is pretty good so far!! --and they all say how EASY it is!!!!)

You could either order online (cheaper) or at a vape store....there's a guy over at the outlet mall in Smithfield that has starter setups, decent prices, but avoid the juices, you can do much better online. Go to the e-liquid discussion pages and read about all the different types available. Once you "get your feet wet", go to the DIY section and read, read, read....that's what I did and now I am making a bunch of exotic juices myself at home. (Yes it is MUCH cheaper to make your own, but you got to know what all you're doing).

Im around here a lot, so hit me up and I'll tell you more about some of the shops around eastern NC (Jacksonville, Fayetteville,
and Chapel Hill all have good shops with decent juices/equipment) Good luck and welcome again!!
Yes you definitely are in my my woods. I work less than a ½ mile from Bill's. Good to hear from you and I am sure I will be talking to you here.

One last question for now. How long should I expect that 15ml tank to last? Appx how many cigs is it equivalent to?

I have no answer for that except for you to not even think about it. Vaping and smoking are not equivalent in any way. Nicotine is absorbed differently, much less efficiently when you vape. You may find yourself want to vape *all the time*. If so, do it! 15mls should last you quite awhile, but everybody's different. Every juice is different.

Reality check:
Expect some frustration. Vaping can be a royal pain in the .... Whatever happens, it's worth it! I promise!

I stated that wrong. The stated that wrong. The refill bottle is 15ml. I was wondering about the tank on the device.

Same answer though, vape it until it's gone and then put more in. :)

Yup, when my sister started, I told her that tank would "get her thru the day"...it lasted, like, 3 days. I told her she wasn't vaping enough!!! Everyone's different, I run 2-3 tanks, 2 of them 3ml, 1 is 2ml. Some days I will fill all three, some days just top off 1 or 2. You don't count "tanks" like cigarettes...also, you will see if you REALLY like the flavor, you will vape it faster, if you are so-so about it, it will go slower. (that's why I keep a couple tanks going....variety!!! :toast:)

One last word tonight -

Keep in mind that there's a component that vaping can't provide: Willpower.
Vaping can make quitting far easier, but is never the same as smoking and is rarely a magic bullet. Three years later and I still can want a cigarette. I can be holding my electronic cigarette in my hand and be patting around my pockets looking for my smokes.
A very large part of it is all in your head.

This is particularly true early on. I actually drove to a gas station yesterday and I didn't need gas. I only turned around because there was a line at the counter. I probably would have bought a pack if there hadn't been.... BUT:

If you do slip and have one now and then don't beat yourself up about it. Try not to let it happen, but we all slip up. Just think about how many you don't smoke when you vape.

Watch the CE clearos, most if they have a wide or knurled band on the bottom you can replace the coil in them. The CE4 is narrow on the bottom its a throwaway, the CE4S is thick/knurled I have those you can replace them cheaply and it works like new again. CE5 seem to be the same there is both versions I have found.

I kept on the challenge and tried to break the habits too. When I cut back I would switch up when I had one, for example that lunch time one is hard to break and I would have on breaks and not lunch just to swap out time stamps. Next day I would have one on a different time. Eventually it was down to 1-2 a day for a week and I said its got to go I'm stuck w/no progress lol. Like I said it was easier than I thought. I had 2 all one week and 2 fri night with some beverages I had done so good (?? not the best idea you don't want to make it a reward, some habits hard to break I guess) but none over a week later and no real issues. Got my favorite flavor in the mail for the weekend its all good. Have a new minit3s clearo really liking it. I am impressed with those who can drop smokes and switch to vaping in a day, not sure I could have. I still get some feelings/aches/pangs/?? here and there, all minor, but are side effects from something or my system re-adjusting not sure. Nothing major and feeling good. I seem to be hitting 24mg once a day and 12 or 18 rest of the time. I don't think I could go through 3ml in a day so no chain vaping for me.

I agree I kept on it every day, some days I did worse some better but every week I did better without seeming to do that much 'work' at quitting....so it was easier to progress it just was not nearly as hard as quitting with nothing to help. My gradual progress worked great no strong cravings, actually much less cravings since I quit the last one, its kind of strange. But I'll take it.:)

My very first kit (6 weeks ago) was an Atmos Twist (black) and a Mini Protank II ... Real basic - reasonable, just like you wanted something simple and clean plus I wasn't sure it would "take" so didn't want to go all crazy if I was going to abandon it you know? i was smoking close to a pack a day for almost 18 years ... and no nicotine gum, patch, SNUS those Blu ecigs anything - would work for long! i admit it took a little adjustment - I mean it IS NOT the same as smoking and I also admit I was TEMPTED to snag a cig --- but I didn't. After only a few days - it was easier and after awhile - all I wanted. i haven't touched a cig in over six weeks and for me it's a really big deal. your choice to switch is a good one and these ecigs a real blessing - you won't regret the choice to switch at all - congratulations! Just stick with it and it will work!

I'm about six weeks into this as well. Haven't smoked an analog - now that I have the right setups, I have no desire to. Started with a fixed-voltage setup. About 2 weeks later, got a Vision Spinner with EVOD tanks. Last week, picked up an iTazte VV3. Yesterday ordered an MVP 2. I've been on vacation for a couple of days and vaping pretty heavily (I just LIKE it). I ran all 4 of my mods to the point of needing recharged - AT THE SAME TIME!!!! Thankfully all but the Spinner are pass-throughs, so I didn't have to even consider being without. I have more juices than I should admit to. I have a stash at home as well as in my office (I have an office with a door, so I vape at work too.) They say have backups of backups of backups. I also have plenty of tanks and replacement coils (I get kinda bored with flavors and like the ability to switch it up - have yet to find my ADV.)

So, much babbling aside, Welcome - good luck, and don't be afraid to ask questions - you'll get lots of great advice.

I totally agree about the physical part of the habit. I too find myself immediately reaching for the cigarettes even when the vape is right beside me. I have found that it helps a lot if I put them in a drawer out of sight. I have both good and bad news to report on quest to quit. I haven't quit yet but have been able to cut back on the real cigarettes by about 1/2. My primary problem is that the e-cig makes me cough just about every time I hit it. For this reason I don't use it much at work. Has anyone else had this problem?

I'd say the immediate cough would be unusual. Now that some time has passed can you tell us exactly what sort of atomizer you're using?
You mentioned harshness sometime back. There is good harshness and bad harshness. Maybe it's possible that your atomizer is not feeding liquid to your heating element efficiently, resulting in a "dry hit". It would help to know what your tank is, possibly even a picture.
