So I'm looking for opinions on what 22 mm mech mod clone had the smoothest bottom button. So far I believe the button on my maraxus mod has the smoothest throw of all the clones I've tried. I just hate carrying around 10 lbs of metal. What do you think has the smoothest bottom button out there. I have, or have had the opportunity to use: Maraxus, Nemesis, Caravela, Stingray, Akuma, Valkyrie, and an Smap mod. Right now I'm leaning towards trying a 4nine next. Thoughts?

Wellllll. I have used a few mech clone mods and my 2nd favourite was the Chi You clone I got from a local vape shop. Very nice button.

Now the smooth button I've ever had on a clone was the HCigar Hammer Clone. Button felt like butter it was so smooth in 18650 mode. Maybe not what you're wanting but maybe give it some consideration ;)

I've been through 7 or 8 nemesis mods, and all their button were crap. They bind horribly, the pin is always falling out, and the springs are terrible. I'm looking for a button similar to a Maraxas or the valkyrie. The valkyrie button is awesome, but the materials is made out of cause the contacts to corrode, so they have to be filed down every couple of days. I just want a smooth, hassle free button, without all the binding of a common large touch area, small center post buttons.

I've heard great things about the brass GP paps clone, available very cheaply at ye olde Fasttech. I haven't used it personally, but I'm lead to believe the button is super smooth, with quite a short throw.

You are correct Sir! Very short throw and super smooth! I love my GP Paps clone from Fasttech so much I just ordered a second one! The thing is wicked small too, only 90 mm tall in the 18650 version. Love love love it! I have a Magneto and a Launcher clone too and the Paps kicks their .... and hits the hardest out of the three.

Crxess, I've still got a couple of nemesis mods in the house. Any tips on cleaning up the button. I've found that a piece of coat hangar wire cut down to replace the pin fits much better than the pin included with the mod. I still get horrible binding though. Going to pick up a paps. For that price, it's hard not to try it out.

I've got a stingray with the magnet button, but it's got a lot of wobble, like you said. It binds a lot unless you press the button exactly in the center. I saw a 22 mm caravela on the fasttech, I might pick one up and see if the button is as good as the 23 mm version. Does anyone have any experience with an ELA mod?

I have 2 Nemesis, a copper Stingray, and a Blackhawk. Out of the 4 I like the Nemesis switches the best. Once you dial them in they're perfect. I have a lot of problems with the Stingrays magnetic switch sticking and binding because of the aforementioned wobbling. Like you said, you gotta hit it dead center. The Panzer was actually a big disappointment all the way around, but that lets me carry it around and not feel bad for beating it up so I can't really complain.

I just ordered the GP PAPS that was linked so I'll try it next month, lol.

The ELA...........yeah...........I've got 15 or more mods..........guess which one's in my hand??? Funny little bottom button, but to me it's the most comfortable. Doesn't like to stand on end? Right.........I don't stand my pretty pyrex tank on the desk when it's on the end of a tube. It breaks when the table is jarred. I always lay my mod down anyway. But the machining and quality, they are second to none. Everything about the ELA works. In fact, everything from Super T works...flawlessly.

He asks about clones, you recommend a $220+ authentic. Classy.

If you assemble the switch with the bottom contact screwed down tightly you aren't going to have an issue with the pin falling out. The bottom contact is not a throw adjustment, if you want a shorter throw you reduce the delrin ring height or use a longer rice pin (which at some point will require a longer contact screw as well).
