Banquer--go for the 901 or the Penstyles--both are no-nonsense workhorses IMO--Sun

Being a relative noob myself, and having my first two purchases been a 901 and a Rio pen-style... I'd say the pen. I really enjoyed my 901, but when I got my pen it took it to a whole new level. Easier draw, longer lasting battery, larger cart. Hands down. Waiting for my mini-pipe now

Will do, Sun. It may be a while, coming from Smokejuice in the UK.

I suggest a PenStyle, DSE801 or RN4072, easy to use and already tested in the long term
