Any advice for which battery to use in the Pico? Choices Im looking at: Samsung 25R (2500mAH), LG HG2 (3,000mAH) and LG HE2 (2500 mAH).

Another curveball of a recommendation was the Panasonic NCR18650B….a huge 3400mAH capacity that is claimed to last twice as long as the Sony VTC5 in real life vaping conditions….however…maximum NCR18650B discharge amp limit is said to be 6.7 Amps under continuous current load….and pulse current for 5-6 sec is 12A.

I read that Pico needs 20A continuous discharge current of above 25A...

Im only going to be using it at the 10-20W range, since Im not sub ohming or running a temp control coil…just a mix of 1.2 ohm-1.8ohm coils.

Thanks.

With a regulated device the coil resistance has no bearing on the amp draw from the battery, only wattage is relevant.
20W is pulling about 5 amps with a charged battery and about 7 amps when the battery is discharged around 3.2 volts.
I would strongly recommend not using the Panasonic as this leaves virtually no safety headroom. The other three you listed are all good 20 amp batteries, I would go for the LG HG2 as it has a longer run time.

I'd go with the LG hg2 (or Samsung 30q) for the battery capacity, but don't exceed 60w with it. For the full 75w, LG hd4 or Sony vtc4.

Definitely not the 3400 mAh Panasonic. The chemistry isn't suitable for vaping, and at higher amp draws it wouldn't last very long at all (mAh in itself doesn't mean much, it's about capacity under the loads used).

I've been reading up on Batteries but still am confused.
Can someone tell me which is a stronger better Battery between the following for high wattage mods above 100w?

Ultrafire TR 18650 5300mAh 3.7v
MXJO IMR 18650 3000mAh 3.7v 35A
LGDBHG218650209G282A5

Don't use the Ultrafire for anything other than torches/flashlights. The mxjo might be an ok battery, but rewraps are rarely worth it. The LG hg2, however, is a good battery. Just make sure that you don't get one from the bad/fake batch that is in circulation at the moment (read Mooch's post on the topic). I'd recommend going for the Samsung 30q to be on the safe side. But, you are asking for batteries for a multiple-battery device, right? No single battery can safely handle 100w by itself.

LG HG2s if its at 15W for longer battery life.
Why 15w? It's a 20 amp cell just like the 25R, HE4 or VTC5. I thought we could run an HG2 safely at 60w all the way down to the 3.2v cutoff on the Pico. Admittedly, I never run my single battery mods (including the Pico) above 35 watts, but the HG2 can handle way more than 15 watts.

Bc the op said he/she only vapes at 10-20W? And my comments were directed at him?

Since almost any batteries recommended on this forum has enough amperage to power his needs in a single battery device why not go with the ones that provide the most longevity.

And yes I know my watts law equation thanks.

You will be pushing around 23.43A at 75W with your battery at the soft cut off of 3.2V.

Thank you all, I picked up two HG2 ...works well.

Mooch had started a thread on fake HG2s floating around so it helped me ensure I got the genuine ones…the small white ring on the positive end should not be shiny and smooth, but matt and textured.

So far, on the few I have tested, that is true. But as I mentioned in the test results, we can't say that all matte/textured HG2's are genuine.

I'm ordering a Pico today and need to get a battery for it.

Was looking down Aliexpress and seen both the Sony VTC4 & LG HG4 have a similar price. About 23-25 $ for 2 batteries and a charger. It's stated that they are originals from good feedback sellers.

What would be better for powering my Pico? Is there any way to check for authenticity?? I'm coming from an EGO+T3S tank so will be wanting to try out Subohming and TC vaping. Sony's seem to have more mAh meaning they shoumd last longer on a single charge.

    Any advice will be great,

    Thanks in advance

    Sony VTC4 2000mAh 18650 Retest Results...a great 23A 2100mAh battery

I'm not aware of any LG HG4. Was this a typo?

    LG HE4 20A 2500mAh 18650 Bench Retest Results...a good 20A battery but 25R5 is better

    LG HB4 30A 1500mAh 18650 Bench Test Results...a fantastic 30A battery, beats HB6 when pulsed!

    LG HB4 "Mustard" 30A 1500mAh 18650 Bench Test Results...a great 30A battery, better than brown HB4

    LG INR18650-HG2 20A 3000mAh Bench Retest Results...a great 20A battery!

    LG HD4 Salmon 18650 Bench Test Results...a 25A/2100mAh battery, in between HD2 and HD2C

You have so many good choices starting with LG HG2, HE2 and HE4, continue with Samsung 25R, 30Q, over Sony VTC4, VTC5, VTC5A and VTC6...and last but not least my favourit Sanyo UR18650NSX.
...and If I were you, buy from a dealer at the Country you are leaving in. In case something terrible happens, no Chinese dealer carreies any liability, while the dealer at your Country does.

The mod's recommended battery is based on its internal current limit. If there was a way to adjust that, reduce maximum power, that would be a good thing. Otherwise it's a little like a mech if you use a battery based on your actual consumption: it's not really protected. A backup limit deep in the menus to avoid accidentally setting it way high would be a good thing in itself, as it is the only protection is to lock all buttons. Just because I want to be able to go between 14.2 and 14.5 watts doesn't mean being able to accidentally run it up to 30, now 75 or 80 with the same button is even acceptable, much less desirable.

Can anyone recommend me a low price 18650 mod with TC on SS/Ti/Ni in the 25-40 watt range? It really would be better than the 75W ones I'm finding.
