You don't have an ohm reader? Shame, shame. We don't guess at ohm ratings. That can get you into a world of trouble. Always measure your coil resistance before firing it on a mod.

AN OHM READER OR A REGULATED mod THAT READS OHMS IS A WISE THING TO HAVE. NEVER NEVER EVER PUT ON A MECH AN UNTESTED COIL.

Yes, that's the kind of foul that gets thrown you out of the game, at least for the game, and maybe the rest of the season if you are unlucky.

Hmm.... most of my mech analogies are cars, I have no idea where that sporting one came from.

You can spend a bit of money on an ohm's reader, or more money on a pretty precise regulated mod, dna even, but either way you need ONE or the OTHER the good news on the mod is that you could actually USE the mod nay EVEN with your very RDA that you want to use on the mech, do some practicing.

Just a thought.

What kind of wire are you using to get it that low. This is SS quad core FC and it is ,16. This build puts out some serious vapor.

The DR has a lot of room for big coils. You would probably benefit from an extra wrap. More surface area will give better vapor production. .1 on a DR with no Challenge Cap (if you are doing hot builds on the rabbit, get one.)with how close those coils are to your mouth doesn't sound pleasant.

The challenge cap comes in brass. Seriously though, there's no need to build that low. It is dangerous and counterproductive to big clouds if that's what you are after. I wouldn't build too hot with a brass cap on that thing. Brass is an excellent conductor of heat.

It's brass. I swapped it out for this one. View attachment 766071 As you can imagine the brass gets quite watm. Looks nice though
the Stentorian RAM gives me the creeps. One spanish speaking reviewer, El Mono Vapeador was vaping on the review as the battery vented on cam. He did remove it on time!

I have never had any issues with it. I don't use it very often. It is a mechanical mod. Quite a simple one and it's made of wood. The Athena is the one that I shy away from. It is mechanical with a metal body and is notorious for arcing. I worry more about my Druga than the RAM. It arcs pretty big when it's fired but it's plastic. I had a Smok Magneto vent a battery once. The plastic threads on the plug that holds the upper magnet gave out allowing the spring to expand thus completing the circuit. It was sitting on the nigjtstand and by the time we noticed it it was too late. It sprayed the contents of the battery through the RDA. Gave me a healthy respect for batteries and mech mods, I used tube mechanicals for years and now I am much more comfortable with box mods. Tube mods are not very forgiving of mistakes at all. There are some people who aren't nearly as apprehensive as they should be.

3x26g Ni80 with an alien wrap of 34g Ni90, 3mm 6 wrap. A dual build can get down to a .075.

You’ve been provided with an excellent amount of information here, ultimately the choice is yours. The forum members here are for helping guide you in searching out what works best for your individual situation.
My :2c: is take heed of what others have shared and go about building safely and confidently.

Thank you. I definitely have. My first build was a single coil 3 core alien at .22. It helped to make me more comfortable with mechs. I have just recently got a parallel mech to accommodate the lower builds in some of my other attys and future builds. My next venture is to build my own high ohm coils for a series, so .4 or higher. I like hot, thick vapes lol. Any suggestions on a good exotic single coil build for a stack? Also. Don't like stainless at all.

From my experience, big Aliens were not the best performers for how low the resistance was. Decent vapor production but sloooooow ramp up. I think you would get better performance from a regular 28×3/38 or 40 Fused Clapton or thinner gauge Aliens. The resistance would be higher and it would fire quicker and you would still get plenty of surface area and big vapor.

Even on a 2 battery regulated at 90+ watts, these took a while to heat up. They were just too massive. They were .1 ohms.

Here's a pair of Mohawks I have in there now. These are much better and they are .14. I use these on a mechanical with a 30T battery. They draw 30 amps.

These are my new favorite though. 28×2/40 SS Fused Claptons. This build is .35 but it's on a regulated so resistance doesn't matter much. This hits almost as hard at 50 watts as the .11 quad cores did at 90. I haven't tried them on a mechmod yet but I will soon. I'll do 6 wraps instead of 8 on a mechanical.
