What's the bet coil build to use in a protank 2? What materials did you use?

There are several "how to" videos on youtube for rebuilding Protank coils, which is rather easy to do. Many people use Kanthal A1 wire and 2-3 mm silica for wick (some use Ekowool or cotton as well). I have 32gauge Kanthal and 2.5mm silica for my rebuilds. Many ecig vendor sell rebuilding supplies, but there is one vendor on Ebay (lightingvapes) that has the best deals on wire and wick ... and he also has a great youtube instructional video, but I don't remember his youtube user name. Just go to youtube and search "rebuild protank coils" and you will find plenty of vids. :)

    No you can't
I use 32gauge Kanthal and cotton swabs or Q-tip cotton. Five turns of wire give me 2.0 ohms. I wrap the coil around a 16 gauge needle pull the coil off and burn it with Bic lighter than put the coil back on the needle thread cotton into the needle install coil with wick into slots in the head using the needle and cut the legs very last thing I do is pull the needle out of coil; screw it on to the base and prime the wick finished.

When I rewick; pull out old wick wash coil dry burn than thread 16 gauge needle thru coil and insert a new wick in the tip of needle withdraw needle out of coil trim wick and FINISHED takes 3 min and I'm done.

I wet(damp only than twist in my fingers to compress it) the cotton prior to threading it into needle

I use my coils until it shortens out almost never have to make a coil.

by using a 16 gauge needle you get just the right amount of cotton and I don't use a flavor wick.

I just rebuilt my first coil this morning... I used 30 gauge Kanthal, 6 wraps around 3mm Silica wick and no flavor wick. It works much better than the coils that came with my PT2. I went out this afternoon to get some sterile surgical cotton to use, but it's still drying; my next rebuild will use the cotton instead of the silica. It's much easier than I though it was going to be, so follow the advice of others and Google for some videos; it only took me about 10 minutes, and I was a bit overly cautious about wrap spacing and such.
