I spent hours of researching to put together a Prepaid Phone along with Prepaid service that would give me great cell phone experience and not break the bank. Thought I'd share it with you.
BTW- I have no commercial interest in these companies or any kind of referral fees, just wanted to share some great deals.

I was with Republic Wireless and they switched my program so I was forced to look for low cost service. Sprint network is out because Sprint coverage in my area is atrocious.

Phones- I looked high and low for a reasonably priced Smart Phone. The best I could find was a Samsung Galaxy s5 at $350.00, still above my target.

Then on a lark I went directly to Motorola Moto Maker and found they were offering a new Moto x gen 2 phone, 5.2" Screen, quad processor with whopping 32GB of ram for $200.00 delivered + $16.00 tax. Since I had a MOTO X Gen 1 and liked it, an upgrade to the Gen 2 was a no brainer. If you can find an unlocked, prepaid, name brand new phone with 32gb ram for $200.00 or under please share on this thread.

By the way the one disadvantage to the Moto X 2nd Gen is that the camera doesn't do so well with low light photography. So if that's important to you then you might want a different phone. Me I can live with that based on the huge savings over anything equivalent.

So now I have a kick ... Phone, what service to pair it to. ? My family has T-Mobile and it works flawlessly in Southern California. I would have considered ATT and Verizon but I preferr to go with what I know. Also they cost more.
Caution- I've heard that T-Mobile doesn't work great all over the country and quality is region specific. So do due diligence before choosing them.

I found a reseller of T-Mobile called GoSmart. You can not only buy on line, but also they have nationwide stores selling their products. My problem was that my phone needs a Nano Simm and the GoSmart website was out of them. Turns out that most Phone Re-sellers can cut a micro Simm down to Nano. So I found a local GoSmart - Reseller [They have list of local resellers on the website] that charged me $5.00 for a cut down Simm and helped me transfer the service.

The catch to GoSmart is that their advertising says that you will get 3g data speeds. I and the reseller believe that they are saying that so they don't cannibalize T-Mobile direct prepay sales. So far I and there other customers have been getting 4g and 4g LTE Data speeds.

I'm streaming youtube like a champ!

So anywaylllllllllllll
Kick ... Smart Phone - $200.00
Unilimited Talk, Text, 4gb Data $30.00/ per month.
No contracts and I own the phone.

Most important of all is that I'm happy with the phone and my coverage.

Straight Talk works well also.
You can pick your carrier, as they have contracted with all the major players for tower usage.
Unlimited talk and text and 5gb high speed data, 45 bucks a month.
You can choose between Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint.

15 bucks more than what you got, but an extra gig of data.
And of course, you bring your own phone.

I had considered straight talk but didn't want to go up to $45.00 unless necessary. Gosmart by the way offers 12gb of data for $45.00 so still less expensive.
