Hey vapdivrr i didnt quite get what you meant about 28g gives better flavor but more wraps of 28g diminishes flavor. Does that mean that i should be going for less wraps on 28? Something like 4/5? Just thinking i would end up with around 1 ohm coil. In which case, whats the difference between that and just turning up the volts on a 32g set up on a provari? Wouldnt i be sble to adjust to equivalent watts?

i think just because the watts are equal, doesnt make the vape equal. i am one that cannot tell you scientifically why 5 wraps of 28g has more flavor then 8 wraps of 28g, maybe just to much heat, but just having tried both, i believe the lesser wrap one has more flavor. its just a time observation for me. some guys know this stuff technically, where i have just tried things for a time and make a comment about what i have found. maybe for me its that with alot more wraps of 28g the coils just take to much time for them to heat up, compared to a lower wraped coil. but its not all about watts for sure, just because you can get to the same wattage with one wire gauge and wraps, doesnt mean you get to the same results with an identical wattage with a different gauge wire and wraps. its more to do with the wire temperature.

Thats seriously interesting. I always thought volts were volts and watts were watts. I'm going to try the 28 g 5 wrap on a mechanical mod and see what happens

Thanks!

definately not the same, there are so many more factors than that. wire temp, coil distance, amps etc. 5/6 wrap of 28 is my normal set-up. i really like it, it usually gives me around 1 ohm of resistance, sometimes a little less depending on the wicks diameter. i have found that more than this many wraps of 28 is to much of a delay of vapor. some people have said that when they do this their gennys get to hot. i havent found this to be true and think there could be other reasons why this could happen. good luck, and if you find that your genny is getting really hot from this let me know. i use this configuration on a mechanical mod as well as my provari, the provari v2 can go as low as 0.08 ohms., but its a little tricky sometimes getting the initial set-up.

I guess it all depends on your vaping style. I personally prefer a gradual heat up, rather than instantaneous. Being an old cigar and pipe smoker, the slower heat up seems to emulate that more. I take slow, 4 or 5 second drags. I've tried other people's low res, instant hit, set ups at our local meet ups, and I don't care for it.

When talking about best flavor, the question isn't which attomizer. The question for best flavor would be what wick type and what gauge kanthal/nichrome you prefer for best flavor. The answer that follows is a mix of preference, opinion, and success of experience using said materials.

For example I get best flavor and performance with cotton rounds for wick material, and 33 AWG kanthal with low ohm's and low voltage with coil wraps close together.

Completely tue rule62. I do as I mentioned on my Phoenixs as those go into my regular EGO batteries (regulated 3.3v) so I need very low resistance atty to be in the 9 to 10 watt rage.

for my genesis though, I do tend to use 1.6 to 2 ohms with 3/4 or sometimes 4/5 wraps

i get what you're saying, i dont have a proV but as long as your coils glow instantly when you hit the switch on a dry burn then the flavor should be spot on when you fill it no matter what ohms and volts you use to get your watts. when the coil is slow to hit max temp is when i think you start losing flavor, its also when the juice in the tank starts getting dark(and losing flavor) IMO. i'm pretty sure it has something to do with heating the liquid without changing its state.
i think the liquid getting dark in the tank is from a looser wick, back wash. i do not use a loose wick ,so i cant say for sure, but the wicks that i do use have a super tiny, little channel and are pretty solid. i really cannot see any real darkening of the juice. but everything is a trade-off, i might loose some flavor because of a dense wick, you might loose some flavor because of the back wash, no difference, or maybe there is?

Some juices will darken just from sitting around, even when not being vaped; especially if it is sitting in a clear tank or bottle.

Yeah the darker a mix is fresh, it's going to get several times darker with steeping. My 2 cleanest mixes that take weeks to gunk up a wick are blueberry extra and double ry4. My cigar carmel vanilla gunks up a wick within days it's so dark.

i have to say the flavor doesnt appear as strong on my rba but better, cleaner, crisper, it actually tastes like a hint of flavor and not candy like my old system did.
with that being said I run a solid 500 wick unoxidized with a 2 ohm coil on my cobra and im always smacking my lips at work after a vape break.

there is a slight chance the thick juice is giving you problems try to use 325 and see if that helps.

Unoxed wick? wow works good for you? I just got a AGA T2 and its my first rba...im not messing with it until I read all of the post in here about how to do it. first i have heard of a unoxed wick. I also have 500 ss mesh.
