I DIY .... only with single flavors. I have a cotton candy mix that is my all day vape and has been for years. However, I have a friend who wants to start DIY and he is interested in complex flavors. I'm wondering if anyone has an opinion on the best flavoring starter pack that he could buy that would have enough flavors in it to where he could begin to experiment with the complex flavors that he desires. Thank you in advance - David

Hi David. The best advice I could give your friend is to check out a few recipe sites and make a list of the flavor AND manufacturer for each recipe he might want to make.

"e-liquid-recipes" <--- google for the website, has a search in upper left corner
Le DIY pour les Nuls - Recettes DIY - Trucs et Astuces. <---French site in English (clones) translate in lower left, search in upper right

Where to shop for flavors:
DIY SUPPLIERS
Bull City Vapor - Best Prices on DIY e-liquid Supplies (Capella, Flavour Art, Flavor West, Hangsen, Inawera, Flavor Apprentice, Lor Ann)
Wizard Labs (Capella, LorAnn, Seedman, Flavor Apprentice, )
DIY E-Liquid, Electronic Cigarettes and Wholesale Nicotine & E-Cig Juice | EcigExpress (Flavour Art, Flavor West, LorAnn, Flavors Express, Natures Flavors, Signature (TFA), Jungle Flavors, Hangsen, Tasty Puff, Inawera, Capella)

Good luck.

Actually no , there are no best flavoring starter packs . The reason is because each flavor manufacturer has real gems and some dud's and any good DIY has a variety of all the most popular from each .

A quick "google" will reveal that info , just try " best e cig flavors from each flavoring company " or "most popular e juice flavorings".

Oh I thought that they sold packs of 10 or so flavorings in sort of a "best of" or "most popular" type format. You're saying that some will be winners and some are duds.?
So should he attempt purchase say 10 of the best regardless of the manufacturer? Like I said I'm a single flavor type guy so I can't really help him much.

It's common for a complex recipe to have 7 different flavorings in the recipe. It's why I suggested looking for some recipes you might want to try...and make a list of ingredients. The plus side is some of the flavors might be really good stand alone as well. With 10 different flavors you "might" be able to make 3 different complex recipes. I've bought a few flavors because "oh that sounds good" and it wasn't. In fact some are horrible...to my taste buds anyways.

If you go to bull city sort by brand and then best sellers it will give you a pretty good idea of some excellent flavors from the various manufacturers. It isn't perfect but it is better than shooting in the dark. it is no guarantee that he will like them. But in general they are solid selections that are popular and taste good.
