Best gauge for ~2ohms?

I have 28g and 30g Kanthal A-1. I've been trying to build a coil for my genesis with 28g, but even with 6 wraps I'm only at 1ohm. What would be best for this?

Use your multimeter and cut a piece of wire that is long enough to be two ohms.
Or am I missing something?

if you cut a piece of wire long enough to be exactly 2 ohms your outcome in the end will be lower then the initial 2 ohms. you defiantly loss resistance from the turns under the screws although it is not much. for 2 ohms 32g would be the best and for 3 ohms i would still use 32g. using anything thinner then 32g is just to thin, although for a genesis atomizer 3 ohms is just to high, genesis atomizers shine at lower resistances unlike a cartomizer or regular dripping atomizers, so if you were using hi resistances in previous atomizers that doesnt mean you will like that same resistance in a genesis.

try a 13 or 15 wrap and see what happens

I found that 28 gauge around an SS mesh wick just the right size for a stock AGA hole is "worth" about 0.2 ohms per wrap. A 5/4 for example got me 0.9. A 6/5 got me 1.1 ohms so 7/6 should be 1.3, 8/7 is 1.5, etc. This is just a rough guide.

30 gauge around the same size wick got me 1.5 ohms with a 5/4 wrap.

Luckily, that's not correct.

And OP, do 6-7 wraps with the 30, that should put you in the ballpark.

Well, when I read that was when I decided to try two strands of 32g, untwisted, to make a sub ohm coil. Whether he said it or not I can't disagree with it. A 32g double coil is easy to get sub ohm and gives lots of wire surface area. Working well for me so far.

He also said that a button spring that gets blazing hot when firing low ohm coils is a "safety feature"...
