Welcome to ECF justslide

You need to let us know what you like ...how you like to vape, to be able to offer suggestions.
Mechanical? VV/VW ? Temperature Control ?
Do you like RDA or RTA or drop in coils ?

Moved this to New Members from Ask The Veterans.

If money is no object, I've seen some nice stuff from the Philippines.
But are you looking for regulated, mechanical, tank, rda, clouds etc......
If I had a little more disposable income I'd get a vaporized nomad boss xl (or their new limited edition polished) and a Sherman tank but.........

The ideal flavor, clouds and feel can come from a 5 dollar gas station pen or a 1000 dollar hitter. Its how you use them and how far your willing to go to learn about that device to make it perform at its best. Vaping isn't plug and play by any means, some think it is but end up being disappointment time and time again. A lot of us veteran users use basic devices and attys but know how to make them perform by rebuilding the coils or making their own juice.
Go ahead and buy the most expensive setup you can find if its just to show off to the buddies but in the end it just a tube with a battery that if used improperly can do damage to a uneducated vaper who is going in over their head too quickly. I'm not saying start cheap but its a lot easier to learn on the simple stuff before going into the more expensive advanced gear.

Thank you guys for the responses. I do not have much experience with vaping. I am looking for something that is more out of the box. I would like to be able to adjust the voltage to get the ideal feel and flavor..

In my opinion, the top hardware from the big Chinese companies is where you should be looking and certainly not at the greedy re-brands that pretend to be special.

I would consider (if money really is no issue) a DNA box mod and then turn your attention to the tank.

There are very expensive 'niche' products out there (mech mods, handmade box mods, RDAs) but none of this stuff is really plug and play.

Vaporshark must do a DNA200. Lost Vape must sell a few Evolv boxes.

These are my idea of top-of-the-range box mod unless you venture into niche or collectible.

I certainly wouldn't go anywhere near the usual suspects who want to sell you a $28 box mod for $149.99 or a $14 Sub-ohm tank for $59.99.

IME there are no actual features on a $1000 mod that can't be had on a $100-150 mod. Cool woods, precious metals, hand engravings/etchings aside.

There is no reason IMO for a new vaper to spend more than $100-150 TOTAL for a mod, tank and some juice and extra coils. Enough to get started with solid gear and start to understand what you want long term.

Note: I have some pretty high end stuff and I have never once had another vaper come up to me impressed with my gear. A mod isn't a watch, sports car or diamond ring.

In fact they usually use the same electronics boards, Evolv DNA or YiHi, so all you really are paying for is the cool wood and special engravings. Not suggesting it lacks worth, folks have actually resold limited edition mods and whatnot at a profit. However, as far as getting you a good vape there is no effective difference.

Good build quality is nice, but you can find it at prices below that of a $1,000 stabilized wood and Swarovski crystal accented mod.

Do you know if you prefer mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung vaping? Even the best of the best direct-to-lung atomizer wouldn't be good for me, because I'm a mouth-to-lung vaper. This also means that (for me!) I don't need a mod that supports sub-ohm high wattage vaping. I might choose a high quality mod, but not because I want to vape at hundreds of watts. A mod that requires more than one 18560 battery is not good for me, because it makes it heavy to hold, which I don't like, and I don't need the extra power because I vape at under 20 watts. I love tiny mods and mini tanks, because I want something light to hold and I find the flavor in smaller tanks to be much better.

This will all be completely different for someone else
. That's why classwife asked you to say more about what you like. There are a lot of very different Cadillacs in the vaping world! It's okay to start out smaller and figure out what your own Cadillac looks like. The exploration is part of the fun! :)

Since you're just starting, I'd experiment with a couple lower priced mods before diving headfirst into...I really shouldn't talk lol, but you need to figure out exactly what type of vaping style suits you best, as multiple people stated before. Honestly, the chipset is the most important part of the mod, and naturally, it should be aesthetically pleasing to you. There are so many mods out there, some that aren't expensive at all, that deliver incredible performance.
May I suggest a Smok Alien 220 kit? Comes with a tank, all you do is add batteries and your favorite juice and vape away. A mod like the Cartel Revenant might be perfect for you. It has one of the slickest boards in the business, and it's intelligent and will recommend you a wattage when you install a new atomizer...each and every time. You can also do temperature control and customized wattage curves...it's a looker, too. Top it off with an atomizer of your choice (again, that comes down to your vaping preference...I'd recommend a tank with a drop in coil for a new vaper...like maybe a Smok TFV8 or Uwell Crown...it really depends on what you prefer) and you have a great setup that will last you for quite some time.
